    [IMG] is this true?
Our opponents will have the abilities to cast 9th level spells?
if yes, can SOMEBODY tell what spells they will cast ( Just curious ) ?
    And something else
Would we be able to go to the underdark for some really risky adventuring?

Nah, you don't get to see Underdark in Icewind Dale.
It'll be in Baldur's Gate II though. ;)

    You can cast:

    Power word: Kill
    Monster Summoning VII

You can cast them using a scroll, but you can't write them in your spellbook.

I see in the manual that spells are listed for all the mage and priest levels. Does any one know what is the highest level of each spell set that your PC can put in their spell book/pray for?

You can write all level 7 spells in your spellbook, but level 8 and 9 you must use scrolls.

[IMG] That's great. That means you only really lose access to five mage spells and non of ther cleric/druid ones. And prismatic spray is level 7. I also wanted to cause 80 points of damage plus save or die. What a nice homely touch...

Yeah, the main spells can be memorized. With level 7 spells you can memorize awesome spells like Mordenkainen's Sword, or Disintegrate. So, you won't be missing much by not being able to memorize the 8th and 9th level spells.
