4th level spells for Dynaheir?

    Hi all! I've read all the Dynaheir threads on this board but haven't seen this question addressed yet, so...

    Dynaheir in my game currently has two slots for 4th level spells, and no spells to fill them. I've tried her on every scroll I've found in the game, plus bought quite a few level 4 spells from Sorcerous Sundries in BG - but so far Imoen's gotten to memorize all of them b/c Dynaheir can't memorize them.

    Has anyone found a 4th level spell Dynaheir can cast?

    Is there a list somewhere of the types of spells (Abjuration, etc.) that can be cast by each type of specialized mage?

    No, but there is a list of the schools that they can't cast from in the manual on page 139.

    Fourth level spells she can cast:

    Dimension Door (Alteration)
    Improved Invisibility (Illusion/Phantasm)
    Minor Globe of Invulnerability (Abjuration)
    Otiluke's Resilient Sphere (Alteration)
    Polymorph Self (Alteration)
    Remove Curse (Abjuration)
    Spirit Armor (Necromancy)

    Fourth level spells she cannot cast:

    Confusion (Enchantment/Charm)
    Emotion: Hopelessness (Enchantment/Charm)
    Greater Malison (Enchantment/Charm)
    Monster Summoning II (Conjuration/Summoning)

    She can only cast three of the eight fifth level spells -- but since one of those three is cloudkill it really doesn't matter what the other spells are.

    Boy that 4th level list ins't very inspiring. I recommend 1 Imp. Invis. and the rest ORS.

    I'd go with Minor Glove on Invulnerability too....makes taking on mages much easier.

    In 2nd ed rules there is the +1 to saves versus your chosen specialty class spells -- AND opponents have a -1 to save when you cast those spells. It may not seem like much, but it adds up.

    I like invokers (great firepower), only their fourth level spell selection is mediocre -- although the first four on the list are not bad (the only real loss is confusion). My personal favorite is dimension door -- warp out of the fray to a safe location and continue casting. It worked quite well for Dynaheir.

    WIS adjustements to saving throws are in the manual too, but not in the game.
