[IMG] This is proboably one of the dumber questions posted lately. But is there no way to have more than one henchman in single player mode? I know you can have familiars and etc. with them but what about just having a multiple scalliwags from the Trades of Blades shop come with you instead? If not, is there a Mod or anything out there to change that? Thanks.

Until you get to HoTU there is no way to have more than one henchman at a time...unless you use a hack. There is one here at SP , and another one over at NWVault. I've never used them, so I can't vouch for how well they work.

Unfortunately, they do nothing toward why you might want additional henchmen...subplots, banter, storyline...and perhaps even romance. HoTU gets into that realm a little, but still not very much.

they also tend to unbalance the game, as the OC's encounter scripts won't take into account multiple henchmen when they attempt to calculate your party's CR (challenge rating) in order to scale most encounters.

[IMG] So your saying its not really all that peachy to have more henchmen (or the delightful henchwomen) anyway...hmmmmmm. I didn't even see that in SP so thanks for the link. I was just intially bummed in the beginning of the game when I had Linu with my ranger and couldn't bring along the hot one in the other room too (she was like a wizard or druid or something). Playing BG, IWD, and ToEE I guess I've gotten used to playing in a group in single player. :coffee:

try some user mods... there are plenty out now which allow more than 1 henchman. i recently played one which allowed 3 henchmen, it was fun. :)

And of course there is always the issue of performance...the Aurora engine seems to require processor speed almost more than a video card, so the more active things you bring into play, the more the game will tend to lag.

[IMG] Neverwinter Nights is a pretty demanding game on the graphics and processor I think. My system isn't spectacular or anything but i got 2.4ghz P4 512mb, and Ati Radeon 9600xt pro. I crank everything up in the video options for NWN and it runs great. This game is really nice looking, better than ff online which i played for a little but grew tired of some of the online player party politics. I'm glad NWN is single-player, but i do want to play online one day. I have a cable modem so it shouldnt lag too much i hope. :1eye:

With my cable connection, I lag no more online than off. Even when playing via dial-up, which I did for about a year, it was not bad. The worst was the area transitions which took me twice as long as others and allowed them to get ahead of me or allowed monsters that chased me out of one area to wait for me to appear in the next where they could attack me at will.
