I have seen people use :s to denote embarrasment (Is that from Yahoo or MSN messenger?). And no one uses the current smiliey for that coz it looks like a guy with a severe case of constipation.

    @ :geezer: err... Splunge
So the next time the :pope: aka Chev starts another  sex-is-wrong thread we should all say: "Get off your soap-box :geezer:

I don't know. Still some geezers like to have sex. Even Bob Dole has been taking Viagra lately. Maybe we need a pilgrim/Puritan looking dude. But only for those who are afraid that sex can only lead to more fun...

How about a Shrub smiley to signify... Never mind. It's too insulting. :D

As I said, pretty much every embarrased smiley on the net looks like the one we have, with only slight alterations. Embarrasment is pretty hard to capture as a single emoticon, so if you find a better one, feel free to let me know.

And no, I don't think it's not being used just because some people got it into their heads that it doesn't look good enough. The embarrased posting icon looks great, and it's hardly ever used either.

Either of the embarrassed smileys here might be good, or better yet something like the MSN Messenger blushing smiley.

Interestingly, our current :o smiley is also discussed later in that thread... and deemed 'confusing.' :D

There's also a blushing smiley half-way down this page which could also work.

I avoid using the current one in favour of  or :mommy: when possible... it does look more like a yawn.

But thanks for the two new ones! :coffee2: is a very good tea smiley as well, imho.

    *shrugs*

I still think the old one was fine, but if people like this one better... :o

(Refresh the page a few times if the old one is still showing.)

 You are right Charlie. Still, its better than looking like you have problems with your bowels. Is the blush supposed to deepen or is that it?
Hey Tal, remind me again why you can not use a copy of the posting smilie that Morgoroth pointed out.

Well, so far I've heard a lot of complaining, but no better suggestions put up than the blushing smiley (and yes, that's it; it doesn't do tricks).

How about reading my post a bit higher up? Posting icons and smilies are two different things. None of them are duplicates, and there's hardly any reason to start doing it now.

The only other smiley worth considering thus far was this one, but it's not really much different than the original. The other blushing smiley looks like a clown with bad make-up.

Forget the snicker, I think Arabwel's suggestion of a chocolate smiley should get priority.

Very funny, now cut it out. You don't have to use it if you don't want to.
