It's been a while and it is always a interesting to hear about. So...

Tell us about your current party.

I have a TOB Party that is my former solo'er with Sarevok but as that is a TOB Party (wrong board) I will instead talk of my SOA party.

PC - Mer'gon - 13th Level H-Orc Wizard Slayer - splat splat!

NPC - Keldorn - awesome, just 'gained' the Holy Avenger.

NPC - Mazzy - I have discussed her ad naus on these boards but she is incredible. 5 shots a round...superb. Good banter too.

NPC - Jan - Has replaced Nalia as she was annoying me and also Jan has great banter with Keldorn and Mazzy. He also has the thief skills and good magic.

Basically I like 4-man or solo parties. Mazzy has the Tuigan Bow, Jan has the Firetooth XBow and they back up the Magekillers of Keldorn and Mer'gon. We have done most of the main areas now, and the first thief quest. The Firk-Draco area was troublesome (Greater Wolfies...Eeek) but other than that we have really held our own and I feel condident that this group can prove victorious.

I'm a huge fan of 4 person parties also. I had soooo much fun with this one (and it was VERY powerful):

Gnome Fighter/Illusionist protagonist
Jaheira (She's even better when you can't romance her -- her quests all happen in a timely manner)
Aerie (Underrated romance, unstoppable once you get her the Robe of Vecna)
Jan (Best Thief in the game, and damn funny)

I love multiclassed characters (as you can see!), and this party rocked. I know I always get a little flack on this one, but Jan (after HLA's) is the most powerful NPC in the game!

I've tried this one with an Elf F/M/T protagonist, and it was also very good.

That was the group I finished the game with, last time. Didn`t bother taking them throug TOB though. I don`t really like the expansion pack.

 

WhenI played it, the party I usually leaned towards without even realising it was this...
I tried to change it loads, but I'd end up missing something one of the chars had!


Keldorn - The instant castdispels and true sights.. plus he can use that +5 2H sword
PC - Fighter/thief - 2nd most powerful class in the game, just after sorcerer
Anomen - Becomes obscenely powerful later
Yoshimo - Best thief
Aerie - Great support
Edwin - Best mage. Better than any you can make yourself.

 

I liked having Yoshimo but even if you keep him alive post spellhold (he even has a comment prior to you driving Irenicus from the elven mega-tree) they won't let him in ToB.

I have generally good parties that frequently have Valygar, Keldorn, Nalia, Aerie, and Jan in them. I can cheat to boost Nalia's dex and resulting thieving abilities but Jan's keep going so I generally settle with him as the party thief. Depending on my main character I may or may not have Anomen. I've favored Undead Hunter, Half-Orc Fighter/Cleric, or Elven Fighter/Mage for the protagonist and may or may not have Anomen depending on how much I need another cleric. I'm wizard heavy so my protagonist is generally in front and in combat, but you can pull off decent tricks with enough spells so it works. I use Mazzy, Minsc, and Anomen interchangeably.

1st time I beat ToB it was with a half Orc Wizard Slayeress, snickered when big bads had trouble casting midfight.

 

I'm trying to get an (almost) only elves game started without restarting due to new modreleases

My plan is this:

Aenir (Female cleric of Lathander)
Jaheira
Aerie
Ninafer (Female F/M)
Xan (Male enchanter) Romance
Imoen - Haldamir (normally fighter mod npc switched to F/T via Level1NPC mod) - and the Imoen again (she's my sister anyway)

BTW pplr there's a soon to come mod which let's you keep Yoshi - and it expands him a bit further

 

Gearing up for an all-female game this time. Actually, it started with me wanting to use the Sarah NPC, going from there to all-female is easy enough.

Lira (charname, probably a swashbuckler or swashbuckler/mage haven't decided yet. dual wielding daggers in any case)
Sarah (mod ranger)
Auren Aseph (mod fighter)
Nalia (unchanged)
Mazzy (changed to fighter/cleric)
And probably Imoen (changed to Jester)

I could sub Mazzy for Cloe and have an all out lesbian party, but I guess that's taking it too far
