Just started a totally new ranger from scratch today!
Too bad the best elven pic is of that idiot Xan from Bg 1.

  2. How can you say that? Xan rocks, he was one of my favourite NPCs in BG1.

I disliked Xan as well in BG1.

Wow, I never would've guessed that of you Syl... Sounds like the perfect mage for you wielding that Moonblade or whatever his sword was...

    My party for BG1

    1 Lance - Human Paladin
    2 Imoen
    3 Jaheira
    4 Kahlied
5 (the dwarf that regenerated can't remember his name :(
    6 Dahynier(sp?)

Eventually I killed Kahlied and picked up someone else, I just can't recall who and Minsc fell on my sword very, very early in the game too.

"Our quest is vain"...Although he was an annoying bastard Xan had its uses and yes his moonblade was one of the best swords in BG1.Shura I think Xan's portrait is one of the worst. You don't have to see the ears to believe he is elven :).I think the best portrait for an elven ranger(it is the best for humans too; not an hamster kissing maniac)is Kivan's(in BG1).it shows an arrow firing ranger that wears a green cloak. The perfect suit for any ranger :)

Yup, that was my choice for my Ranger in BG1 and carried over for my Archer in BG2...

[IMG] My first time through BG I was with a regular fighter, Imoen, Khalid, Jaheira, Branwen and Xan. I got used to his comments, but low hit points, stupid pathfinding and inexperienced Thaumas meant a lot of deaths for him. No wonder he complained :). The quest would have been vain if it wasn't for the most wondrous spell called Reload.

Btw, Xan and Branwen are sort of in BG II as well. Anyone tried the tutorial?

I liked Xan. His whining annoyed my non-gamer bro. Also that moonblade was awesome. A few illusion spells help to compensate for his lack of HP.

    hahaha
thanks for the response to a post made in boredom, guys.
I liked Xan in BG1, but his whining got to me eventually so i booted him out.
Too bad Kivan never made it over. I really liked that NPC.

Kivan was the man.(Elf, actually) A moment of silence for the only good aligned character i didn't skewer.

Xan... ugh. Quickest death on my hands ever. He managed to depress the whole party in less than 30 seconds.
Thank God it took only two for that gibberling to kill him. :D
Anyone noticed Garrick, the bard from BG1 at the temple of the most radiant hand (or whatever) in the temple district?
Really funny. But weird because I could never get the gnome and the girl to speak to each other even though it seems that they should.

[IMG] Taluntain, on my first time through, the whole drama with Garrick, gnome and lady paladin (I assume) was played out. There was a happy ending for the lady paladin and the gnome, though not for poor Garrick. Maybe if you go to the front door of the Order of the Radiant Heart often enough, the sequence of action will be played out.

Funny thing was, the second character I played through, Garrick and the whole ensemble did not appear at all!

[IMG] Can you believe I chose Garrick's portrait for my monk ? He had brown clothes, that's the only explanation I can give.

  16. Ah, but there was a happy ending for Garrick, he ran of to Calimshan with an impressionable young lady! (Hehe that brings back memories, not mine though ;)
