Hey I'm thinking about creating a wizard slayer because I love the concept. But I'm wondering which armor and weapons to use....And do you guys have any tactics that would help him to ummm...not get killed? ;) He will probably be the one to go toe to toe with wizards, so I am probably gonna try and get magic resistance stuff for him. I heard there was also a mod that allowed a little bit more freedom for a wizard slayers...could someone please direct me to where I can find this, if it acctually exists.

    Thanks in advance! :D

IMHO Inquisitors do a better job of wizard slaying than Wizard Slayers.

I'd suggest fast weapons and dual weilding: magical long swords and katanas should do the trick.

I tried experimenting with the wizard slayer and learned a few not so obvious things about them:

1- The magic disrupting ability dosn't work with missile weapons.
2- The disrupting ability dosn't affect clerics
3- The disrupting abiltity does work on every melee hit. This includes stone skins, mirror images, etc...
4- The disrupting ability dosn't last forever, in fact the duration is on the short side from what I have observed, but I cannot say exactly how long it lasts.

Weapon selection can go two ways:

1- Duel weilding. If DW, the primary weapon I'ld use would be longsword, with secondary short sword. Longswords because healing options of Dragonslayer and Adjatha, shortswords because of Kundane. Plus, short/longswords offer the most special effects in SOA.
2- Two-handed. Here my primary would be 2-handed sword, primarly for the healing ability of Sword of Chaos. I'ld also pick up staff for the blunt attack. Nice thing about 2 handed weapons is the extra reach, you can wack big critters without them being able to hit you because of doors, etc.. The otough (sp?) in the starter dungeon and later golems are good examples of where this can be used. (An extra note, in the starter dungeon after getting the Sword of Chaos, you can go wack the jailor golem by the cells for healing. He is immune to the damage, but you still get healed. When finished healing, kill him with the staff+1).

Evil is the way to go, vampiric touches and human flesh armor are cool :) .

Take a look at 'Earl Grey's' website as he soloed a drawrven wizard slayer to great effect. Can't remember the website address, but search for his name and you should find it.

    Found it: http://www.geocities.com/earlgreyi/index.html
