    [​IMG] Tuesday, March 18th, 2003. Just a regular day to most of you, extremely important day to me.

    I applied for a college course in comedy writing.
    My marks are good enough to get in, but they have to do an audition, where you read a monologue to the professors, because they honestly won't let you in if they don't think you're funny.

    Tommorow is my audition. Could be the most important thing that's happened in my life. It's true, college is a huge factor in what, when, and why you do what you do with your life.

    So wish me luck, SP. I'm going in.

    (BTW, I'm reading a Dave Barry monologue from the complete guide to guys. About a hurricane, and marijuana.)

    Well I will wish you good luck but I really don't think that you will need it. From what I remember of the college and university entrance interviews that my friends and I went through when we left high school the interviews were really just a formality. As long as you don't act like a complete idiot you should be fine.

    I see that you are from Ontario and I can imagine that you might be worried about the increased number of applicants this year but believe me, professors are only human and they don't want to spend more time then they have to interviewing applicants so you can be sure that they are not seeing any more people then they normally would to fill the available spots.

    A friend of mine had to do the exact same thing, and he said it wasn't that hard. Just be yourself and it'll turn out ok.

    You couldn't have picked a better choice for your monologue. I'm laughing just thinking about it! I guess you probably can't get away with mimicking Barry's accent but I sure would be tempted. :p Good luck! And if you haven't already heard of this trick, you might want to smear a tiny bit of vaseline or lip balm on your lips and front teeth before going in. It makes talking a lot more comfortable, because even if you get nervous and your mouth dries up a little your lips won't stick to your teeth.
