The manual's rather unclear about it's description. From what I know, wisdom is supposed to affect your saving throws against mind influencing spells in the actual AD&D rules. Is that in this game, or is it merely for clerics to get additional spells (and getting better options for wish and limited wish)?

Yes, that is in this game. But otherwise, I don't know how it is implemented or how it works.

Well it doesn't affect the saving throw stat directly.
My Paladin with Wisdom 21 has the same saving throw rating as Minsc with Wisdom 6.

18 wisdom should give +4 to magic attacks.

Does the +4 actually affect anything in the game? For example, is your paladin less often affected by mind spells (although that's a biased question, since he already has a saving throw bonus from being a paladin.....)

Yes wisdom affects this save throw but in 3rd edition of D&D, and Baldur's gate is based on the second edition's rules where it doesn't affect this save throw

[IMG] Well in the manual that came with BG2 it says it should give +4...

    But I don't notice anything.

Actually, I'll change my old opinion. Now that you say, it really seems to me that you don't get affected by high wisdom. The only reason I said so before was that I read that in practically ALL strategy guides I've come across, but they never described how it worked. The only thing I know for sure is that it affects your lore and how easily you identify items.

I guess the +4 magic defence wasn't implimented in BG2, and is merely for show..... and neither were the mind immunity attributes you were supposed to get from ultra high wisdom (20+)
