I'm using win2k I'm all patched both win2k and bg2 etc, and BG2 causes my comp to randomly quit out, reboot, or memorydump to me randomly throughout the game. Any known way to fix this? This also happens with Planescape torment if that's any help.

Perhaps the answer to that question does not lie within the game maybe it's a problem with your computer. Or maybe not :hmm: .

First off, disable EAX (if you have it).
If Environmental Audio is not active on your PC, please post which graphic and sound card you're using.

One thing more, do disable anti-virus utils while you're playing games, especially if you're running Norton's one.

Well this only seems to happen with Infinity Explorer games (I've tried other highend games and they run fine) I'm using the onboard ASUS sound card which is called (in the hardware profiles) "CMI8738/C3DX PCI audio device"

    Extremist,

I've also experienced crashing problem, but never thought too much about it. I do run Nortons, so I'll turn that off in the future.

I'm also running Trident Cyberblade Ail 2x AGP Video and PCI audio (I really know very little about computers so I'm not sure if any of that means anything).

Thanks for the help... it is quite annoying.

Friggen, of course someone can help, you just need some patience, right? ;)

And it's not only Infinity Engine, you would get that thing again with other games. And the problem is your sound card driver. Get the right one here, and install it now:

As for Trident cards, IIRC there were no problems with those.
