OK, I installed this wide screen mod for Baldur's Gate and now all the fog of war in my infinity engine games look like this:

This has been going on for a while and I'm just really sick of it. Anyone know the magic on how to get rid of it? I've already tried reinstalling my drivers. The mod has long been removed.

This is the mod I used:

    I have P2 955/GTX260/Win7/Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4

Thanks, but that messed up my install, so I had to reinstall IWD2. I'm not saying it isn't, but I don't see how it could be my graphics card when the artifacts only occurred when I installed the widescreen mod. I think it overwrote a file somewhere and didn't uninstall properly.

Dunno then, only thing I can say is that that screenshot looks exactly like IWD2 looks on my computer without the fix.

[IMG] I use the widescreen mod too, and haven't had any ugliness of the kind you described. It has to be something to do with your hardware - the graphics card is an obvious suspect. Maybe the two are just incompatible...:(

I don't use wide screen mod, and I have the same artifacts.

    Haven't bothered to fix them.

It could be that whatever the widescreen mod does, it brought out the problem by overwriting something or something like that.

Try using 16-bit color in the game options. There are other options IIRC, try combinations of them.

Things like Software BLT, Software Mirror BLT or Software Transparent BLT. It's definitely worth a shot if you haven't tried them yet.

Well, I'm playing it with wine on linux, and now the fog of war is normal.
