Why no love for items for Clerics/Druids?

Seems like there's a zillion items you can install or from mods that make Mages/Sorcerers utterly lethal with their powers and spells, but why not the like for Clerics/Druids? After all, give them as many level 7 spells as Mages/Sorcs can get 9, and you've got a powerhouse just as good! So, is there any decent, not too overpowered items I could download/install that increase spells for Clerics/Druids, or their powers, or increase casting speed for them?

Druids become ridiculously powerful once they reach level 15. To be honest, I don't think clerics need anything to make them any more powerful than they already are. Cleric and druid spells are more protective than offensive as both classes are capable of engaging in melee. Mages, on the other hand, are incredibly weak physically, thus the wide selection of offensive spells at their beck and call.

As far as I know the only mage that could potentially have a ridiculous amount of spells available to them is Edwin. Other than that, a vanilla mage maxes out at 5 spells/level and specialist mages and sorcerers max out at 6.

And there are many items for Clerics and Druids that can improve their powers. If your PC is a cleric, you can get a ring of holiness, which gives you extra spells. For druids, there is the Staff of Arundel, and Staff of the Woodlands (which I don't think gives extra spells, but is certainly an excellent weapon).

Also, don't forget that both druids and clerics get a wider range of weapon choices than do mages. Clerics can wear any armor, and with items like Crom Faeyr, they are deadly in combat. Druids cannot wear heavier than leather armor, but with Iron Skin they can be in the front line just as easily as a cleric. It would be quite unfair and would grossly unbalance the game if druids and clerics retained their lethality in melee combat, and also can an extremely high number of spells.

Anyway I can make a cleric/druid item if you wish, just tell what you need (what THAC0, damage, special effects etc.).

Druids are extremely offensive, they're not healers they're disablers. Mostly druids are meant to trap/ensare/whatever people then clobber them, or summon animals to do so for them. They really don't need any more powerful items, but there is a mod that increases the amount of 3-4-5-6 level spells a cleric can cast, (I think it's 6 3rd 5 4th 4 5th and 2 6th).

Cool Baronius. I'm just mainly looking for something that gives clerics a bit of a general bonus, including though a nice bonus to casting speed. :)

That is not too specific, but if you wish, I can do something. But tell it, because I do not want to work in vain.

Soom good news for you all, with some shameless self-promotion thrown in: we're working on a Cleric Remix md over at Gibberlings Three and we're pretty close to a beta. We're adding at least six kits, a lot of new clerical spells, unique HLAs for the kitted priests, and implementing a lot of P&P cleric features (such as sphere restrictions) that Bioware ommitted.

One of the P&P changes, you'll be happy to discover, is the P&P maximum clerical spells table, which allows clerics to progress to nine seventh level spells around level 33 or so. With proper sphere access, you'll also find that some of the kits can now cast druidic spells...

Baronius, just make, I dunno, either ring/ammy/belt/gloves that give some decent minor bonuses to clerics or perhaps druids as well, I mainly want increased casting speed, and maybe 1 or 2 bonus level 7 spells. :)

The Staff of Thunder is a great weapon for Druids.

    It summons Shambling Mounds?

You fight a Shambling Mound in ToB I remember, and I think when you summon the Elven god in Suldanesseler his avatar is that of a Shmbling Mound

64HP, 13THAC0, 1 attack, no resistances. Requires +2 or better to hit. Attacks with a 4d8 + strength (19) blunt attack.

That seems like a far weaker version of the Shambling Mounds that Nyalee summons. I seem to think they had over 100 HPs and were pretty lethal in melee.

I have created two rings for priests, but unfortunately I do not have time to make the setup files. Tomorrow I will be in Prague, but on Saturday I will create the installers and upload the files.

Which means they are basically decoys. Besides, there are other benefits in the staff. Permanant barkskin looks kinda cool and gives a great AC bonus.

    Uploaded it.
It install two rings (Red Ring and Blue Ring). You can create them by using CLUAConsole (Line "Debug Mode=1" must be in your baldur.ini file, under [Program Options]; in the game, you can make the console appear by pressing Ctrl+Space).
    Type
    CLUAConsole:CreateItem("RGBB01") for Red Ring
    OR
    CLUAConsole:CreateItem("RGBB02") for Blue Ring.

You can choose which you want. Red Ring is overpowered, Blue Ring is just a powerful item.

    Red Ring:
Adds 2 spell slots to spell levels 3,5,7 and gives immunity to TimeStop.

    Blue Ring:
Adds a spell slot to spell levels 3,5,7 an gives immunity to Petrification.

    It has WeiDU installer.
Extract the content of the .zip file to your BGII folder, and then start setup-prrings.exe . Don't delete the installer files and backup folder or the log file created by it: it is needed to an uninstall/reinstall.

You can get the zip file here:
