I've recently come across a few walkthroughs of IWD and IWDEE. Everyone suggests to take the rhino beetle shield from Dirty Llew over to Nym for enchanting.

Nobody seems to point out that you take it to Orrick for enchanting. Then it's a question of whether you want +1 AC or whether you value 15% fire resistance more. Of course, resistances are good but players should know they have this choice. [okay okay, it must be mentioned somewhere by someone but I'm posting this as I haven't come across this info yet]

    Nym's Rhino Beetle Shield +2:
    – Armor Class: +3, an extra +1 vs. missile attacks
    – Fire Resistance: +15%

    Orrick's Rhino Beetle Shield +3:
    – Armor Class: +4, an extra +1 vs. missile attacks

Okay, as predicted, someone has mentioned it. Thank goodness. As a matter of fact, @Beren has mentioned it in is video guide for IWDEE here on this site. However, he says (https://sorcerers.net/Games/IWD/Walkthrough2/chapter-6/gnome-village.php):

This dialogue was never broken for me. He's always been able to make the enchanted shield for me and does a stellar job of it. Note that I have never upgrade my IWDEE past 1.4.0 so it's possible some later version screwed this up.

That guide wasn't written for EE at all, but for the original CD game.

So it looks like that dialogue was one of the things that was fixed in EE.
