Why do evil Elven thieves have to miss out on so much?

    I really like the idea of play an evil Elven Assassin or Elven Bounty Hunter, but I would miss out on two of the things that make playing evil so much fun...

    1. Romance Viconia
    2. Side with Bodhi against Shadow Thieves

    ...is there a way around this? What if I don't accept the thieves guild and would the Valen mod fix this.

    I know there's no way around the Viccy romance. I'll just have to live with this or choose another race. Will she romance halflings or is it just Humans and Elves?

    Are there any other quests/plots I would miss out on being an evil Elf thief?

    Well the Ease of Use mod has a few components that will let you romance Viccy as an elf. As far as the allying with Bodhi thing, I'm not sure I understand your problem. You can ally with her as a thief, if you want; you just lose out on the Thieves' Guild. Not too big a loss, if you ask me. Just don't accept it and take the Short Sword of Backstabbing instead.

    You can get around the problem of joining Bohdi as a thief by being a multiclass with a mage or fighter etc. This allows for thieves to join Bohdi. If you really want a kit, use Shadow Keeper to make a multiclass Fighter/Assassin.

    Or you could just go and do all the guild quests and THEN join Bodhi.

    Also, to answer your initial question, yes, Viconia will romance halflings (as well as half-elves and humans).

    A halfling assassin romancing a drow, does have quite a twisted ring about it.

    I keep thinking it strange that an Elf would romance a halfling, but I forget that in D&D Elves are much smaller than in LOTR. So maybe it isn't that bad after all.

    I suppose Viccy would be attracted to the power and strength of character, not stature.

    Viccy is supposed to romance half-orcs. She actually doesn't due to a bug (fixed by either Baldurdash or the Official Patch).

    I've tried to join Bohdi as a thief and she rejects me immediately. Unless you download the character that is her sidekick and makes her playable as an NPC (sorry forgot her name after I started typing).

    I'm actually playing an CE elven assassin right now. I used a console command to trigger Viccy's romance and installed the Valen mod, but didn't actually use Valen.

    I must admit that I do really like Valen. She can be overpowered, but she also has her weaknesses.

    I might go with an Elven Assassin or Bounty Hunter and take Aerie, Haer'Dalis and Valen with me. Not sure yet who the other members will be. Maybe Korgan and Viconia.

    She will romance a Rogue, but she isn't meant to romance an Elf by default - it's a Drow/Elf thing. This is fixed in a mod though.
