[IMG] Nalia, definitely Nalia. I think Imoen is much better than Nalia, especially in thieving ability!

    If I Recall Correctly (IIRC)

First, I was not sure if I would keep Keldorn, because of his low dexterity. But i founded a gauntlet of dextery that put his dexterity at 18. So this way, he have a good ac and with his 2 handed sword (the one that can only be used by paladin, 1d12+5) he rock. He is far more better than Minsc.

Drop Jaheira. You've got protection from Aerie and Anomen. Did you do his quest yet? I gather his wisdom gets higher, thus more protection.

I've started a 'romance' with her, and I'm waiting for the Harper quest to begin. When's the last chance to dump her before heading out to ..Spellhold?

I started her quest, but I never got as far as her meeting with Elminster. We did the quest for to find Montaron, then confronted the Harpers in the hall. Then later we met another group who tried to take us arrest her. I guess we talked our way out of it, because they left, and my Quest Log lists it as a completed quest. I got sick of waiting and just dumped her. If you want to kill time, do all the personal quests for everyone in your party, them remove someone, tell them to wait at the Copper Coronet, then grab another NPC to do his/her quest.

I'd say dump either Jahiera or Anomen. They should serve the same purpouse-a backup fighter-healer-offensive/protective spells. Both can be good(well, at least I know for certain Jahiera can if played correctly). I personally like the druid spells, and since you have Ariee for the cleric spells, I'd gte rid of Jahiera. Oh, one more thing. Something to consider here is whether you want Crom Fyer. Jahiera needs strength enhancement to be a good fighter. I decided it was better to give her the gauntlets of ogre power(reserving the girdles of frost and hill giant strength for my Kensai/Mage and Berzerker) than to forge the hammer. So that might be something to consider when dumping one or the other.

I played the game as a monk and I would advice you to drop Nalia. I had Minsc, Keldorn, Imoen, Aerie and Sir Anomen. And the rest of the game I had all the resourcess I needed.

Uh, Anomen for backup? That's Jaheira's cue IIRC.
Anomen is my main fighter besides Minsc - an undead basher with either some nice mace or warhammer. He does crazy damage, and with an AC of -10 and gauntlets of dex...
Try for yourself. One mean churchgoer. :D

True, Anomen is one of my frontline fighters. I would drop Nalia.
Jaheira is an acceptable fighter and give some extra spells, though she lacks strength.

Anomen has the advantage to get beyond the two prof slots for every main weapon for he is dual-classed. His problem is lack of dexterity. You get some trouble when you have Anomen and Keldorn because you only find ONE pair of gauntlets of dexterity.

[IMG] If you all were paying attention he has already said that he will be dropping Nalia for Imoen. He needs to know *who else* would you recommend. Advising him to drop Nalia is no help at all! Since he has two *tanks* (his monk and Minsc) the decision seems to be between Jaheira and Anomen and their abilities with protection spells. Pay Attention!! ;)

So far I like the Jaheria option. Since I got Anomen up to Knighthood status, he's become WAY better, both as a fighter and a spell caster. I saw someone suggest using Sanctuary along with the Blade defense spell. I can't wait to try that one, and he's got 'em both. And his Undead feature's been pushing undead aside pretty well too. If it wasn't for his "For the Glory!" bs, it'd been an easier decision.

I'm still concerned about the extra Harper quest and the Ring that come with it (Wizadry), so I guess I'll wander a bit more waiting for it to come. I was hoping to save a couple of quests in chapters 1-2 for buffing up Imoen after I pick her up, but a monk's got to do what a monk's got to do...

    thanks for the imput.

now if I can only get the game back..

    day 17.

    the beat goes on.

Beware! the harper quest can stretch out, as you have little control over the timing (I started it chap 2 and havn't completed at chap 6 (I stayed in Athkatla and it seems most events are triggered by camping out side ( I kinda prefer inns )).
