Not necessarily your favorite / most powerful item you use. Celestial Fury for example is a favorite weapon for many, but I found its 'background story' rather bland and non-existent.

    For me:

'Cera Sumat' - A pretty uplifting story about an old duke who pledged justice to and saved the life of a 5 year old girl, and then nailed those 6 bad-asses of Bane.

The bone club that you find in the Asylum - Gotta hand it to a guy who tears out his own femur in order to exact revenge on the undead.

The Belt that you can get from Orrick in IWD1 - A pretty shameful story of an elf wizard who fell in love with a Drow, and was provoked into a cycle of retaliation when she was murdered.

Slayer. A spear from IWD. It's about a paladin who has to murder a hundred knights to end a family curse or something.

Pale justice. IWD's holy avenger. I'm to lazy to summarize the backstory :p

Suryrys blade (sp?). A halberd from BG1 (and 2). Carried by a minotaur who bested every foe; he gave it to his last challenger, who would have beaten him, if his sword hadn't broke.

I'll post more if I think of any more.... :spin:

Easy one ... the whole pantaloons quest and items you get when you finally complete it. The backgrounds are great and very fitting for the overall quest.
