Which is the worse NPC in the game??

In the game the worse NPC must be Haer' Dalis he is useless in battles. Even at level 19 dies too fast and useless in melee combat. He claims that his sword skills are second only to Drizzt's himself. So I took him in my party and spent a lot of time just getting him to level 19. I looked to see how many Monsters he kill and he has only has about 3 kills to his name. Less than 1% of total kills in the party and the most powerful monster killed was a thug. I must of resurrected this almost every time after a difficult combat. Even my Familiar has most kills than this guy.

Even Boo must of finnished more eye balls than this guy.

Is this Haer' Dalis sword skills second to Drizzt's skills or is there a bug in the game?

 

Mazzy, she is annoying, she has an annoying voice, on the grounds of that, she will not venture with me, she can rot in the shadow prison.

I'd rather cary a broom instead. At least, I will be able to do some cleaning in my keep.

 

It's amazing what items can do. I hated Anomen because he was a pompous ass, but I dumped Aerie early and needed a cleric. Now, Anomen's been knighted, which raises his WIS to a respectable 16. I gave him gloves of DEX. I used all his proficiency pts. on warhammers, and he now has the Crom Feayr. I also gave him boots of speed, so this once crappy character can whoopass on anyone. The most useless NPC is Edwin. He's a stiff.

 

Edwin with no items, is the best mage in the entire game. With an intelligence of 18 (In AD&D terms Genius), at level 18 he can cast up to 5 level 8 spells and 2 level 9 spells. Casting 5 Level 8 ABI-DALZIM'S HORRID WILTING using 2 Level 9 CHAIN CONTINGENCY's he can wipe out Drizzt's and his entire party doning up to 200-400 Damage for all five spells in 2 seconds(Works on Dragon's).

Anomen with lots of magical equipment at level 18 couldn't even take on Drizzt's one on one. For a Cleric his wisdom of 16 when knighted is not too bad. For a fighter he is average, Korgan can beat him one on one any time at the same level with the same equipment. I rate Anomen as an average cleric and average fighter.

 

My status as founder member of the Mazzy fan club is too well known to be re - documented here. I will say that in my game she killed Firkragg (with +3 short sword) and Kangaxx (with Crom Freyr)

I think Septic has a good point, it is the voices that put a lot of people off Mazzy and Amouen. Apart from Irenicus I rate most of the voices worse than BG1. I miss the cool Clint Eatwood of Kivan and the husky swedish masseuse of Branwen. I know she's in the tutorial but it's not the same.

 

I hate that "What is it now?!" From Anomen, even after he's knighted! It gets on my nerves.

 

My least favorite NPC is nalia. she is ignorant, whiney, stupid, and a crappy theif, and a so-so mage. i would take Jan over her any day.

 

Yeah, Nalia does come across as a hypocrite, doesn't she? She's not a bad mage, though. A 17 intelligence is quite good, since you can't memorize level 9 spells without disabling the XP cap, anyway. She does suck big time as a thief, dualing her a level 4 is such a waste. Jan is a much better thief, and funnier.
