Despite having played this game several times before, I completely forgot that if you have been through the underdark and then go to the graveyard hunting Bohdi (and the Rhynn Lanthorn), she will kidnap you're love interest if you have one.

This time round I am running with an evil based 5 person party (Viccy,Korgan,Edwin,Jan) so my romance is Viccy. Now that she is kidnapped it's all a bit tricky since she (as a Cleric)is the single most important class when going to deal with Bohdi. She had the improved +2 Mace of Disruption on her at the time as well...rats.

I'll probably back up one screen and drop her from the party, then have the first confrontation in the graveyard without her, then go back and sign her on again. Still, that is a little cheesier than I like.

I could just go and get Aerie as a temporary fill I suppose, I certainly cannot just charge in regardless, I would get level drained in an instant.

Reload, get the mace from her, hand it to you or Korgan, depending on who's the best fighter, let Viccy get abducted.

 

Viconia is not absolutely necessary for dealing with Bodhi's lair, though she does make it a bit easier. She is not even remotely difficult to defeat as a partial undead, and the lair does not have that many vampires. You'll be able to hold them at bay with just the mace of disruption.

Also, if you dump Viconia, it will interfere with your romance.

 

I thought my romance with Viccy had played out as she was saying to me it just wouldn't work out, but I persuaded to stay until the quest was finished.

 

Doesn't she drop all her equipment when she gets kidnapped. I'm pretty sure she does, so you should have the Mace of Disruption, and that gives you Negative Plane Protection. So now go find something that give you protection against Charm and Domination like spells, give the Mace to Korgan and watch the Vampires get disrupted.

 

Can't you just buy some scrolls of protection from undead? With them it's practically child's play... I didn't have IMoD and I don't have much problem with Bodhi's gang.
Hm, and speaking about them... Did you keep the Daystar? 1xSunray (2 with vhailor's helm) can be very useful too.

 

You can buy a Helmet from Ribald that can cast Sunray as well.

 

A helmet that can cast Sunray?!?! Why was I not aware of this? I thought the only item in the game that could cast Sunray was the Daystar sword... I'll have to look in to that next time I play. The helmet isn't only in Ribald's "personal" selection that you can only see after Ch. 5 or so is it?

 

The Helm of Brilliance is in Ribalds "special section" that you can access after you have done the underdark.

Viccy does indeed drop her stuff, I had not realised that.

In the end I just went with one power fighter (as suggested above) wielding the M of D to give myself immunity to level drain, (along with the celestial katana), and resurrected Viccy later.
