When to dual class?

Ok, so far I have been soloing an Assassin with the intention of dual classing him to Mage at level 13, but I'm not sure if I want to just yet. Should I wait until I have a x6 or x7 backstab modifer? Right now I have a x5.

I'm happy with my amount of theiving skills but it won't take much experience to go a little higher as a thief. On the other hand I don't want to have to play through almost all of SoA just to get my thieving skills back.

Should I even dual class at all? I'm evil and looking foward to using the Human Flesh armor, which I can't wear while casting spells.

Oh by the way, after I get my theif skills back(if I decide to dual class) I'm going to pick up some of my party members. In the romance with Viconia you pick up some Dark Elven Mail +1 which I'm planning on using if I dual class.

Oh another question, can you wear protection rings/amulets/cloaks with the Human Flesh armor?

 

I would not dual class at all man. Why?
Well you are playing a single class assassin so you will probably get your high level ability no problem. Just get the use any item and recite scrolls!!! This way you'll get that x7 backstab no problem. If you do dual class and weight to get x6 or x7 backstab you will be pretty high level. Personally i dont like to dual class pass level 9-10. I think level 9 is the ideal time to dual class. Anything over that would be somewhat overkill. Plus it makes it less enjoyable to play your character. You probably spend quite bit of time waiting for your guy to level up pass your first class so you can regain the benefits of dualship. That lag period is kind of boring. I don't enjoy it much, thus i'm usually bias towards true classes! In terms of versitality i look it as a party as a whole, not one single character, and thats probably why i like true classes more!

Yeha, anyways get the use any item and recite scrolls if you want your thief to cast some spells. There are tons of scrolls lying around everywhere. Plus you can always preserve you scrolls by simulacrum your self and cast from the simulacrum... good fun... A thief reciting timestop scroll and using the assination skill during the timestop!! x7! wooot good stuff.

altough he has delay time trap... hrm but still timestop spell is better.!

I like to play a Kensai/Thief, I know it does take a while to get him where I want while his other class is inactive, but anyway I usually dual from a level 14 Kensai to my thief class. It takes a while to get there but once there my thief is a human blender!

 

If I were you (and I wanted to dual) then I woul do it at a level when you get lots of new bonuses (but you can still earn enough exp. to get them back).
