[IMG] At what point in the game, if at all, did you decide to tramp your party through the massive dungeon?

I usually do the first level a few hours after escaping from Irenicus Dungeon.
When I come back depends on whether my characters are well equipped or not.

I usually do it right before ToB, right after SoA. I tried doing it before I went bashing through Spellhold's front door, but I got squished on the level before I got to Demogorgon. :rolling:

I once tried it straight out of Irenicus' dungeon but got slaughtered so now I generally leave it until after the siege of Saradush has ended.

I usually take it out on my way out of the Underdark, while I am cleaning up all of my little quests I ignored before. It works.

As of late, I've been getting that out of the way pretty early on. I'll do a few quests first (usually Nalia and Reijek) to get a few levels under my belt and the Flail. Some of the goodies you get out of WK are very useful early in the game. Course there is a lot of junk too you end up schlepping around too but you take the good with the bad, I suppose.

I normally do it once I get out of Saradush. I have done it in SoA but I find it annoying having to stash/carry around so many items that are essentially useless until Cespenar combines/upgrades them.

I normally do it right after Saradush as well. Since I always take Sarevok, I kind of want him to be present whenever I get all that experience.

I like to do the first floor of WK around level 10 to get all those great items and experience. Then I go back after the Underdark when my party can show those demons who's boss.

Earlier, I used to visit it before the Final battle. Last time I played BGII+ToB I visited it much earlier, before Abazigal and Sendai IIRC.

After Saradush. While I don't doubt that a party can get through, even on a hard difficulty level during SoA, the only the it really gives you is XP. Sure, XP's are nice, but you really don't need all those extra XP's to complete the SoA portion of the game, and with all that crap you'll be carrying around, it isn't really worth it IMO.

I always go there right after finishing up with Bodhi in Chapter 6. I find that at that time, all that extra XP helps a great deal in making the final battle with Irenicus a cakewalk. Also, there is a relatively short time you have to carry all the extra junk around till you get to ToB and Cespenar...also, it isn't that painful if you have a Bag of Holding...especially the modded version. I don't think that would be cheating, because its just a lot more convenient to carry it all around with you instead of storing it in some box someplace and having to go all the way to that place just to retrieve whatever you stored there...

    Edit: New gem...woo hoo! :D :D :D
