Not so really expensive, but some games I've bought do suck contrary to their enthusiastically inflated reviews. Oh well, and alcohol expenses are totally useless especially if you buy imported beer that's marginally better than country one and the whole feeling lasts for insignificant seconds in the scale of eternity  Good I'm not smoking, anyway.

Computer magazines are largely useless, but I don't buy them any longer except when they put something nice on the CD(s). The same for computer upgrades for quite some time. It's no longer fun.

My dad bought golf clubs and never once used them. They're still sitting in the corner collecting dust.

My first computer was an old Apple, I forgot what model it was, but it had a 6" screen with orange letters and a 5.25 floppy drive...I used it mainly as a paper weight. :rolling:

Pet toys. I think that the enormous artificial tree (102" high!) for the cats to climb is probably the most awful example, but my dog and canary each have more toys than many children. You can hardly take a step in our house without tripping over something, yet every time I see a new, exciting and different pet toy I can't stop myself from buying it. Today I came SOOO close to buying a machine that dispenses catnip-scented bubbles... thank god I stopped myself in time or there would be a sure winner.

I was convinced into buying a roadside cone from a guy for $10 once when I was really drunk. You know, one of those orange rubber parking lot cones? Yeah. Big dumbass. Thank you, alcohol.

There is so many things I dare not list them all.

Probably my weights. You know, the bar and weight get up used for bench pressing... I got them for 15 bux off a mate, but never used them.

A CD/Radio Alarm clock. I already had a perfectly good sterio and a good alarm clock, but I saw this and just had to buy it.
I also once brought this modeling stuff. Heaps of it, about NZ$50. Thats still sitting unused in my room, only about 8 years old.

A dog. The damn thing eats more than I do! I think it's because it's bigger than I am. He also chews everything up, me included, and slobbers all over everything. I haven't had a decent meal ever since he learned that he can use the chair as a stepping stool to get to the cupboards and ultimately all the food and snacks I try to hide.

Any T-shirt that I get when on vacation that has those supposedly "funny" pictures or phrases - never wear them once I get back home.

    And a dead parrot.

I once bought a suit, to go to a wedding. It was pretty expensive, and i didn't feel comfortable in it. So after the wedding, it went into the closet, and never got out again.

    Big waste of money.

Any toy that I bought for my kids. Half the time they don't use them and the other half they prefer to play with the box. Their favourite toy right now? An empty bottle of bubble bath that's bright pink. I wish I was kidding.
Other than that.... anything that was on sale that I didn't intend to get before going to the store.
