Hey, what kind of weapon do you ussually give to Jeheira? I am asking becouse she is kinda weak becouse she has only a Scimitar +1.Of course I'm only in chapter 2 and haven't done the main quests.

 

Im well into the game (just outside Baldur's Gate) and she only has a sling+1 and a scimitar+2, there is very little else I have seen that is suitable for her. She doesnt make well for a melee attcking char but more of a spell disrupter/caster.

 

erm. SotC, I think this is BG2, which doesn't have Baldurs gate city in it.

Overload - I tend to go with a purchased sling (+ big shield). There are a couple of good ones available, especially if you have the bonus merchants.
Otherwise I think she can use Belm, which can be piked up fairly early. Rather than spoil it for you, if you want to know it's location try one of the walkthroughs.

 

Jaheira is a Druid. One of the areas in Amn is having animal trouble. Go figure.

Well, I give her the sling of Everard +5 from the bonus merchant in the copper coronet. For melee, I give her the club +3 from a merchant in trademeet. Blood something or other I think.

That way I can give her a nice big shield.

 

I know you can get the scimitar +2 in Trademeet.I am there right now and almost have it but is that the best i can give her???

I disagree. The only stat of hers that is lacking is strength, and that is easily solved with one of the STR items (eg Ribald's belt). She can wear any armour to get great AC; add iron skins to that, and she'll probably take the least damage of any party member.

Anyway, on topic - in my current game, I have my party members using weapons that I don't usually use (just to try something different), and I have Jaheira using a spear, alongside Keldorn with a halberd. Jaheira is doing just fine.

 

Dual Weilding scimitars (belm in main hand and Rashads Talon in the off hand) or I give her a spear. She's deadly with the Impaler

 

Hmm..i'll think of the dual thing but i have another question.Does the shield from the bonus merchant in the Adventurers Mart really reflect all the beholder rays?I never tried it but I am thinking of giving it to Jaheira and one of the scimitars +2

 

Indeed. You use that shield and no beholder can touch you with it's rays...... well there is the Elder orb's imprisonment... but hey! you cant win 'em all.

I warn you, use that thing and beholder battles are so pathetically boring its untrue. Grab saving grace or any other nice shield, there are lots out there.

 

There is a way to make even the toughest battle with beholders easy. Take that shield, give it to a fighter, give him the best weapon you've got, use the 'Protection from Magic' scroll on him, and send him in. After the beholders use up all of their magic (especially mage spells like Imprisonment), feel free to send in the cavalry.

 

Give here a spear or a staff and she'll do fine.

 

The club Blackblood (In the main hand) and belm in the offhand, or perhaps a speedy weapon. At higher levels, you could probably even go with a normal speed club or scimitar.

That's the chappy. Always give that to Jaheira.

 

IMHO, the best weapon for her is a Dagger, but you won't be able to buy it until much later on.

 

Hi -

Jaheira is also a good candidate for the shield of reflection, which is a fun item. Wander around the slums or docks waiting for the umpteenth thug group to attack, place reflection-Jaheira out front all by herself (doing her nails or something, not attacking!), and watch the thugs shoot themselves to death. Fun. You'd think that after the fourth or fifth reflected bolt they might get suspicious, but gladly such is not the case.

I've been thinking of doing a "pacifist" build (no direct damage) eventually, and the shield of reflection gets high marks for such a cause.
