Hi, I'd like your advice and what mods to use. I haven't played ToB for over a year so I'm sure many great mods are available now. I've looked on some of the mod lists but there is just too many so I thought it would be better to ask here.

What I want is mods that adds content to the game (items, quest etc) but they have to be well-balanced. I don't want them to make my party superstrong. I want them to be fun, balanced and well made. Something that bioware could have made itself :)

A mod that looks very promising is 'Unfinished Business' I haven't tried it yet, but the description sounds good. So is this a good mod to use ? (balanced and bug free)

I'd appreciate it if you could post a link to the mods you think are good and maybe a short description of what they do.

    Thanks :D

Unfinished Business:Restores some cut-quests, definitely balanced and unique!

    Quest Pack:Additional quests/new solutions.

NPC flirt pack:NPCs you are romancing will have tons of interactions with you. You can force-talk them to do anything you want:Kiss, hug, rub, squeeze, bath etc. etc.

Banter Packs:New NPC banters! Cool interactions!

Turnabout: If you have Ascension, this mod will enable you to summon a very old companinon NPC to your side in the very final battle of ToB. You can choose between some BG1 NPCs, Yoshi, Khalid, or Gorion or Alianna. (PC's caring mom.)

Kelsey:A cute sorcerer NPC, has a romance for ladies.

Ashes of Embers:Some tweaks/kits/3e style weapon rules. (it is against the spirit of the game but...)

Virtue:Interesting tweak for reputation, you have a virtue score, it can even change your alignment so beware!

All these can be found here:
    http://www.pocketplane.net/mambo/index.php

    G3 anniversary mod:Adds a funny quest.

G3 tweaks:Various tweaks and enchantments for BG2, to make it a better game. Recommended!

Oversight:Adds new (cool) monk HLAs, corrects creature alignments which are mixed badly in the game, also buffs up Sendai, she becomes worthy of Ascension four. (WARNING! Super tough!)

Song and Silence:Adds new and cool beyond words rogue kits, I mean, BOTH thief and bard kits. Also adds a new and cool merchant in Bridge District, he sells purest bardic stuff! :thumb:

    Cleric Remix:Nice kits&remix for priests!

^All these can be found here:
    http://www.gibberlings3.net/

Rogues re-balancing: Changes thief/bard HLAs, adds more appropriate and cool things, very cool!
Also can beef up Sthieves to make them a worthy challenge, significantly raises AI and skill of the Sthieves. Here:
    http://www.gamesector.co.yu/avenger/

Now, these are some very radical mods, which changes the hardiness of the game greatly, making BG2 a fresh, new and thriling experience, I have them all, definitely recoomended.

Tactics:Beefs up nearly all major enemies, gives them better stats, abilities and GREATLY improves AI. BEST challenging mod ever!

Ascension:Same as Tactics but for ToB enemies, especially the five, except Sendai. (you need Oversight for her) COOL!

Ease of Use:Many little tweaks which enhances game, which makes it more fun and less frustration play, DEFINITELY get it if you don't even want to get anything.

Sola:Solaufein can join you as a NPC, he has cool items, abilities and can romance you regardless of your gender/race. :D His romance is so deep, and he has many interesting challenges and rewards! Reccomended!

Valen:Valen, the servant of Bodhi can join you if you ally yourself with Bodhi. She is a vampiric F/t, absolutely powerful but she has her own disadvantages:Weak in sunlight, she is insane, will generally rip innocents apart and cause you non-stop trouble, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TM) will hunt her, and she has many weaknesses of the undead. One component will also buff priests in the game so that they are better equipped against her.

Item Upgrade:Cromwell or Jaspenar can upgrade a lot of items for you, creating uber items! But they are hard to find. Balanced, I guess.

Underrepresented Items Mod:Adds some IWD2 items, and weapons which are under-represented in BG2, such as bastard swords, two handed axes, maces etc. I can'T say it is balanced though.

Spell-50 mod:Spell power will rise up to level 50, makes the game thrilling as it also affects enemies!

Find all of them here: www.weidu.org

Imoen romance:Yes that is it. Buggy it is. www.imoen.org

    Subraces:Cool subraces for races.
    http://chosenofmystra.db-forge.com/mystra_forum/viewtopic.php?t=325

Druidic Sorcerer:Absolute power in spellcasting. Has unique and really weird, cool HLAs! I am playing as one and he rocks!

    Super Firkraag:
    http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/d/e/deg161/mods/

Improved battles:A msut to have with Tactics for non-stop fun! (HARD!)
    http://fridgecomp.com/moonfruit/

Improved Asylum:Makes Spellhold a funnier place, with harder spawns, different/new riddles, and Bodhi hunting you occasionaly! Also, it adds a non-hostile UBER POWERFUL party, you may try to kill them for their awesome loot, but they are hard. :thumb: Overall this is a good mod if you are bored with normal Asylum.
    http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/d/e/deg161/mods/

Planar Sphere Mod:If you are a mage and/or have PS as your stronghold (you can have it with Ease of USe even if you are not a mage), once the initial stronghold quests are over, the mod fills the PS with new students, teachers, and gives a ton of new and unique quests, and most unique spells. The main quest is hard, you fight a being who threaten to kill Gods themselves, and the rewards are astounding, loot is awesome, fun is unparalelled! :thumb: This is one crazy power-gamer mod! I LOVE IT!
    http://www.3ddownloads.com/telefragged/fwstudios/hlid

BG1 casting sounds: I didn't know BG1 casting sounds were THAT cool! This mod restores good old BG1 casting sounds. They are thrilling, terrifying and cool beyond words! Please, you MUST hear them! http://mods.pocketplane.net/Tutusounds_v4.exe

Exnem's Addon:This is a joke. Adds horribly powerful and unbalanced items/spells. If you like jokes...
    http://www.3dconsortium.com/bgvault/index.htm

Revised hell Trials:A must to have! Adds new solutions and consequences to Hell trials. Your alignment can shift even more! http://adahn.gmxhome.de/

Herbs&Potions:You can create new potions from herbs. you need to take herbs to herbalist chick who can brew you very potent and useful potions, she can enchant items and sells stuff too! She is cute!

    ---------------------------------------------------
These are the ones I remember now, I have every one of them and even more. If I recall more I will tell ya OK?

Tell us what you decide to have, and we can discuss further! ;)

    ^Silverstar, u rule :D .

Big Picture is pretty cool. Contains of The darkest day (average), Shadows over Soubar (nice) and Tortured Souls (Mega!). They are normally incomaptibile, but BP combines them into a one, great whole.
For eg, TS adds Kachiko NPC, who is female assasin 9taht's NOT the class) sent to kill Yoshimo. You will be suprosed when the great quest begins. So far I find it the best fan-made adventure at all.

The Ritual - adds cool, hard and interesting quest to start at Watcher's Keep entrance. That was still challenging even for pimped 7-million party. Also, you will enjoy cool dialogues included.

Heh, everybody knows BG2 mods are my business eh?

IIRC, The Ritual quest was the part of Tactics mod, I maybe wrong, or was the component so liked that somebody made a new mod for it? Anywyay, it has GREAT battles over battles, and pretty tough! :thumb:
