Charm, confusion, hold, etc?? would it be the protection from (insert school here)?? Right now im debating with myself whether I should dual to theif(wear armor, helmets, and whatnot that protect against those) or mage(cast spells that protect against those).

Yeah, I think the spell enchantment(or charm), and I think mind blank works as well, except maybe against hold.

Freedom of movement spell should help against hold.

Mind Blank isn't implemented in this game. The mage spell that you want is the level 5 Spell Immunity: Enchantment. This not only protects against Charm and Confusion, but Chaos, Domination, Feeblemind and Hold as well. Note that the mage can only cast this spell on himself. The level 5 cleric spell Chaotic Commands will protect against all mental attacks (including psionics) but will not protect against Hold Person.

Freedom of Movement also is not in the game.

    Use Spell Immunity: Enchantment.

Or, if you really want to be mean to your enemies, use Spell Immunity:Divination followed by Mislead (A spell trigger will work well). They won't be able to dispel your invis and this will basically make you immune to everything that's aimed at your character.
