What is your favorite 'love talk' music?

Ok, so I did a quick search and I didn't find anything relating to the 4 most commonly heard pieces of music throughout the game (that is, *if* you're romancing one of the 4 romancable NPCs. So the question is, what is your favorite love talk music or if you like, the "Romance Theme"?

Personally, I really like Aerie's music. It's soft, it's calm, and it really sets the mood for a romance. It has been my favorite since I first heard it waaaaaaay back when the game first hit the shelves. :thumb:

I also really like Jaheira's music. It's her complete opposite though, as it is soft and gentle. This them is a close tie to Aerie's...but not quite a tie...sorry Beren. :p

Viconia's music is just a slower, softer version of the main SoA theme. I like the 'real' SoA music better.

Anomen's music isn't great, but it's not bad. The trumpets are a little overbearing, but it's alright considering it was written as a theme song for a man...I guess.

And there you have it. If you would like to download all of SoA and ToB's music, head on over to 3D Downloads. :rolling:

I love Aerie's music - I nearly cried the first time I heard it. It fits her perfectly - it is wavering and melancholic, like her.

Viconia's is nice too - dark and mysterious, a nice alternative version of the main SoA theme.

My least favourite would have to be either Jaheira's or Anomen's. They are both just annoying. What's with the fanfare for Anomen?! I just turn off the speakers everytime I hear it.

Well I think Aerie's is just a little nice melody, but I find it way too childish! :p 'Cuute' at first and 'Bleah' after some time!

Jaheira's is full of mysteries, and a deep, secret passion, I can almost feel her feelings! I have done her romance fully for three times, I know the music too well, and still love to hear it!

I love Viccy's too, it is simply soo dark, mysterious and cool! There is a little bit drama too, and tells of the hardships of being a drow on the surface!

What about some mod NPCs? Sola's melody is of that good quality inns, :D so I guess he is out of contest! Just recently, I am toying with Nathaniel (the gay kensai) in my recent game and his music is suprisingly good, abeit shorter than original melodies. What say you?

I'm not even sure the love talk music plays on my machine. Or maybe I've just become that un-noticing of it. So I can't really say.

What is love-talk music? I don't think I've ever heard that in my game.

When you romance a character, they do specific talks relating to you called Love-Talks, which you can only hear if you romance them. Each of the main characters has their own theme music whenever a love talk triggers.

I like Jaheira's music the best... I just do. I don't have reasoning besides that fact that it sounds nice.

I've had the romantic dialogue but I didn't know that there was special music.

BG2 has "special music" for pretty much everything. There are 81 music files in the .zip file I linked to.

Harby, the next time you play through BG2, I suggest you turn up the "music volume" in the options menu within the game, and then turn up your speakers so you can actually hear something. :thumb:

Ok, so we have 2 for Aeire, 2 for Jaheira, and 1 for Viccy. :rolling:

Kitrax. your trying to kill me. My computer turned not even halfway up can be heard throughout our two story house and then some. I turn up the volume when I want to go deaf.

    - Anomen's is a bit overbearing and somewhat pompous, IMO.

    - Viconia's is a very calming, soothing music. It almost isn't a romantic music when paired with some of her dialogues, but fits the character and the romance very well.

    - Aerie's is a sweet and innocent tune, but a bit sappy and coming-of-age for my liking. It fits her very well, though - well, until late ToB, at least, when she's gone through too much to remain that innocent.

    - Jaheira's really brings out the almost tortured nature of that relationship, IMO. Listening to it, I get the impression that she almost doesn't know her own heart and mind, isn't used to the sensation, and doesn't like it, even as she and the PC are supporting each other and becoming closer. Paired with the changing nature of your romance dialogues with her, it works very well.

Based on that, and the fact that I almost invariably opt for the Jaheira romance, I think people can guess which one's my favourite.

    EDIT: Woohoo, new gem!

I always thought the music in BGII was just random, so I probably turned it down because it became it bit repetitive after a while.

Nay, BG2 music is truly marvelous, all that cool and exciting combat sound, excellent theme musics, and final battle musics are awesome! Romance musics are, also brilliant and reflect the characeristic of the NPC quite well!

Open up music and environmental noises, they add a ton of atmosphere! :thumb:

Viconia's is very nice. I vastly enjoyed listening to it every time i heard it throughout the game! Very BG like! :D

Jaheria's music was alright, but didn't have that same 'feeling' as Viconia's did ... but it still was nice to hear.

Aerie's was great for describing her personality, but it just didn't do it for me. But hey, she's hot, so I guess I could put up with it :p

Regarding Anomen, I've never heard his music before because there's NO WAY I'd EVER romance that boi so it's not like I'm going to hear his music! Is it good at all?

Ummm...that comment I made about turning up the volume was directed towards Harbourboy. But if it *did* make you go deaf...at least it was to something good. :p

Well...you *could* download the .zip file I linked to. that way you could hear all the music! :thumb:

I will say that the inclusion of the trumpets in Anomen's love talk music creates a sort of 'holier-then-thou' feeling, which fits that pompous moron perfectly! :rolling:
