Just thought of an idea suddenly... If we killed some NPC that's involved in the main story, eg, we kill Imoen in the Irecius Dungeon when the story starts, what would happen actually? If she's dead, then how should the magic casting between Irecius and she occur after escaping the dungeon? Anyone tried b4?

When I played BG1, I tried to attack some important NPC like Elmister, but he keeps running away and disappeared without fighting back (the circle still blue).

I'd say Irenicus raises her and continues his plan, since all NPC's can be raised when killed.

I've never tried this, but then it's not something you'd think of instantly. Well done for thinking of it, I might try it in my next game of BGII

[IMG] This has been covered before, but first, while in Irenicus' dungeon, Imoen has that nifty belt that makes her extremely resistant to damage. Second, she will run away if she's about to die before escaping.

The girdle is there to prevent stupid player to get frustrated after interrupting the storyline by killing Imoen.

For the same reason there is a similar feature coming to work when you join the shadowthiefs and try to pickpocket or attack Aran Linvail ...

More info: http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001572.html though this was slightly getting out of topic finally

Yep, and I suppose after releasing her from Spellhold she can be killed for then you can also finish the game without her in your party? (to get back on-topic)

actually.. i've seen Imoen die.. but thats after the dungeon... speaking of the belt... Imoen took a lot of damage while fighting close range in the dungeon coz i couldnt find a short bow for her... so i dont really know how the belt is suppose to make her more resistant to damage..

    Theoretically:

    1) Hack the game and remove imoens belt.
    2) Set her to level 1, 1 hp and no magic resistance.
    3) Strip her of all her items and stuff.
    4) No resistances to anything
    5) Make her THAC0 skyrocket.
    6) Become a level xx mage with almost all the spells.(replace xx with a high number)
    7) Imprison her
    8) Kill her (one hitpoint she is on full, so she wont run.)
    9) Hold person?
    10) This would be a good idea, I am sure that Pyrus would hate her anyway.

I played a multiplayer game where she died, never tried to get her killed in singleplayer though, and that was in Irenicus' dungeon.

hmm, wait, it's a long time ago, perhaps she did run away, argh, can't remember
