Well... neither VLC nor Windows MP works, you can watch the movie but you can't select anything from the menus, such as spoken language, which makes movies rather dull when there is no default setting. So, I was wondering what player you think is best to use. I'm looking for something free (no trial periods), with the normal functions (play, pause, stop, flash forward and rewind), and the ability to play .iso files.

I checked download.com and it was all crap. Either it costed money or the download came with spyware and other nasty stuff.

I haven't really tried this one but apparently it is pretty good considering it's completely free. Though I cannot say for sure. Link

And by the way; It's weird that Windows Media Player don't work with DVDs, do you have the lastest version with the proper codecs? Or maybe it's your DVD player that lacks proper drivers.

Well, it plays the dvd, but you can't click the options on the main menu (which means the movie starts automatically after a while). I have the latest WMP, but I haven't downloaded any codecs (since I normally use VLC). Infact, I'm a bit sceptic to downloading codecs, since many packs come with unwanted material.

Bahir, InterVideo's 'WinDVD' came bundled with my laptop...so it's all I've ever used for DVD playback. It works well, but IIRC, it does cost $$. :rolling:

BSPlayer is the best and is free, supports lots of (if not all of them) formats and you can set audio streams by default (if a video has two audio streams you can set that everytime it plays, use stream 2).
