    i thinking of make 1 but not sure which 1 is good
    and sould i do human as the race???????

    The best specialist mage is the conjurer, who loses the fewest spells. He also loses the most useless spell (i.e. infravision). Illusionists are pretty nice too, as there aren't too many good necromancy spells.

    Race is a personal preference, though gnomes get int 19 as starting score. I like humans.

    As long as he can use evocation, I don't care. If talking bg2, I also need necromancy. I just love the deathspell. :D

    Conjurers are the best because they only lose divination spells which are pretty crap apart from identify which you can get done at any shop. DO NOT become an invoker because they lose enchantment and conjuration spells.

    You specialize because you can cast 1 extra spell of every level each day!!

    My game didn't come with a handbook, so I have to ask some questions that may be explained there. I've been wondering why the spells are diff colors --- it seems the greens are protections(?), but are the reds, blues, & whites representative of specialists?

    Aaargh, this surface world burns my eyes!!!

    abjurer - gren
    conjurer - orange
    invoker - red
    transmuter - blue
    illusionist - multicolored

    hope was helpful. next time steal the book also...
