What do high(er) level Rogues offer the party?

    I'm considering playing a Bard/Rogue, and I don't really know what the Rogue class can offer the party.

    Since my little brainstorm is a Drow Bard/Rogue, I'll have to keep them within a level of each other to avoid an XP penalty. This would being me over my previous maximum Rogue level of 3.

    Tell me when you find out :heh: I've never had a high level rogue before.
    Frankly, bard was just the wrong class to dual a high level rogue with. At higher levels the hiding and backstabbing part of the rogue's arsnel becomes more powerful. A fighter/rogue or ranger/rogue who can backstab a powerful enemy, then have enough AC to hold on while the cavalry arrives would have been better.
    With a bard/rogue, I don't think you will really find him doing things differently from when he was Rogue[2].

    Well I had a Rogue30, who does 10d6 sneak attack damage. It was useful in HoF, I gave him a special weapon with a very long reach, he was able to hit for massive damage from afar, run away, hide, repeat again! Plus he %95 succeeds any reflex save and takes NO damage at all! If he rolls 1, he fails, only to take half damage! He was fun!

    Does the sneak attack max out at 10D6? What is its progression and at what level does it maximise.
    And backstabbing using a ranged weapon? Or with a staff (it can't be 12 paces).

    improved evasion is great, and if you keep on improving your intelligence, there wont ever be a shortage of skills in your party.

    backstabbing is a lot of fun for people, and certain backstabbing altering feats are way cool too.
