What did my Ranger supposedly do?

    Potential spoilers.

I'm playing a ranger/cleric that I imported from BG1. I took the ranger stronghold. I completed the Shade Lord quest, then I completed the portion where I find the mithril amulet for the Lord and get him to leave the forest without any violence.

I was in a rush to get Imoen, so I went to Spellhold without doing the other ranger stronghold quests (I hadn't been approached to do them yet) with the impression that I could continue the stronghold when I returned from the Underdark. Instead, when I returned from the Underdark, the people in town tell me that despite all that I've done for them, they don't want my kind around anymore. I've been kicked out of my cabin. I've lost everything I was storing in there, including the Crom Faeyer scroll that I was going to use for the first time to stick on my cleric/ranger.

I have not fallen. I am still a ranger. I haven't reached the point where I do the Tears so that's not something that could have caused me to fall. I didn't buy the kids swords or beer. My character screen doesn't say that I've fallen, I have my ranger abilities, in short, I still have my ranger membership card.

So, what happened? I think it's a bug, and if so I'll cheat myself up a new Crom Faeyer scroll since the game cheated my original away. Is it a bug? Out of curiousity, what is it that a ranger is capable of doing to piss off the town in this manner? Maybe it isn't a bug, maybe you can't spend so much time away from the ranger stronghold and I should've waited to finish it before heading to spellhold, in which case no Crom Faeyer for me.

    Just curious-- thanks.

    Hey Laches
I just did the Ranger stronghold myself. It is my new favorite, though it is out of the way.
One of the quests was to protect the towne from orcs I think. When I got this quest the boy said I only had a couple of days to return and help the towne.Perhaps when this quest came up they invaded towne and killed people or something like that while you were doing other things.
Dont know if this was it perhaps some one else could tell you for sure.

I pretty much think that what Dorion said is what caused the bug, but it shouldn't have happened this way. IIRC, those quests don't start until the boy actually meets up with you, so that really shouldn't have happened.
