[IMG] Did you ever have what you thought was a really good idea, only to have it flop because you didn't quite think it all the way through and missed some fundamental little thing?

Today is Velcro's birthday. Since we're both watching our weight (and made cookies last night as a family project), we won't be having cake. But I wanted to give him some candles to blow out, anyway.

Now Velcro's favorite breakfast is a nice big bowl of oatmeal, thick with whole grains and fruit. I thought it would be fun to put his candles in the oatmeal. But... oatmeal is hot. Birthday candles are made of cheap wax that melts quickly. Instead of a cute presentation, I ended up throwing out about 1/4th of the bowl, scooping out the puddles of wax. :o

So 'fess up! What stupid thing have YOU done recently?!

Well, since I do something stupid everyday, it might take me a sec to think of something that really stands out...

Ah, got one! This happened just today. My g/f and I went to the local rec. center to have a little fun. Well, after working out a bit we went into the hot tub. Apparently no one under 18 can be in there without a parent, so the obviously new lifeguard made my g/f get out. I told the lifeguard that I am acting as her guardian...but being new she made her get out anyway. I decided to take her to the Sauna...which only people 18+ are allowed in...no exceptions, but since I knew the lifeguard who was watching over the sauna and the steam-room he let her in. 15 minutes later the "new chick" walked by and saw us waving and smiling at her...to make a long story short, we got kicked out of the rec. center for the day. :rolling:

[IMG] Recently, my boss called me if I could come working the the day after. There were very few people and I would be one of the 3 to open the shop. I often am too late for work, so that morning my boss called me, I said to myself: 'Thijs (Yes, that's me), if you want to be in time tomorrow, you'd better set your alarmclock!'
And before I went to sleep that night, I did the same, just in case I forgot. When I set my alarm 2 times, it just turnes off. Needless to say, I didn't wake up until my boss called me by phone. Boy! He was pissed. And boy! Was I stupid!

[IMG] It wasn't my doing but I was there. One day this week It was suppossed to rain hard at Noon. But it never did, so my dad deciedes to put the top down on his car and run a few errands for the house. He was thinking "It didn't rain yet, so it wont." Well on the highway it starts to dizzle. and we run into traffic, (thank god) this was the only time i was happy to be in traffic. He puts on the E-Brakes and puts the top up. A few moments later it down pours. But we were happy we were safe. But then we realized we left the windows up on the truck, and in the house. And when we got back everything was wet. :(

    Aah, alarm clock stories...

Well a week ago, my year went to Paris.
We had to be at school at 5 am (!). Now I was going to set my alarm clock at a quarter to 4, because I had to do some other stuff. Unfortunately I set it at 4.45 instead. Luckily I got such an adrenaline rush when I woke up and looked at my alarm clock, that I managed to get ready in time.

Oh, and Paris was great! :D
