Weird things occur after a single Slayer change

    I posted this already in BG2:SoA forum but as I learned there installation of ToB is the cause of this. So maybe you know something more about the problem and how to fix it perhaps (if it's really a problem and not just soething added for the annoyment of players).

    I have Edwin in my party and after my rep reached 19 he had a speech about lost opportunities a few times and finally quit. So I loaded earlier savegame changed into slayer to lose two rep points and quickly (in the same or the very next round) changed back to my half-elf form. Even though I still got 'your control is slipping message' but it did not bother me much. What did is the fact that now everytime I quit a party required area flames arise around my character for a moment. I quit/loaded etc. but it didn't cease. Is something wrong?


    I checked with ShadowKeeper and two new variables showed up that were not present in my earlier saves. They're SLAYER10 and SLAYERDEATH. I think SLAYERDEATH shows up only after I change to slayer of my own will and the number variable present by it refers to how many times I changed. As for SLAYER10 I think it doesn't depend on whether you become Slayer of your own will and I always had 0 variable by it.

    Those flames really get on my nerves, too. They aren't only cosmetic, however. I'm pretty sure they cancel any polymorph type effects on you, too. I tested this with the Cloak of the Sewer (or whatever the cloak is that allows you to turn into trolls, jellies, etc), and sure enough, when I went to leave an area, I was instantly turned back into human form. This isn't really much to worry about (how often do you leave an area in a polymorphed form?), but it annoys me nevertheless.

    oh yeah!! Finally i know the reason to those annoying flames. They get to my nerves too :)

    I thought it was something caused by adalon's polymorph+some item i was wearing. So, this means that after the drow polymorph plot ends, you won't see those flames.

    Hmm maybe it is corrected in the patch ? (left that game and started a new one with the patch)

    [​IMG] is it big blue flames? if so, that was my fave part of loading the game! it was so funny seeing them appear in a puff of blue smoke!

    No, that's not them. They're orange / red flames, like one of the effects that Irenicus hits you with while you're in your cell at the very beginning. I agree - those restoration type blue flames look cool - having certain effects on the party will cause that effect to happen when you load.
