I liked the rule of WP in BG-II and I want to make them viable through my 3E campaing, any idea? Should they be "feat" that each class receive at a X level? or skill you could buy perhaps? I'd like to make sure they are 100% 3E 'cause I Have realy NO IDEA what they meant by 5/2 attack per round in BG2...

Martial Weapon Profiency, Simple Weapon Proficiency, and Exotic Weapon proficiency are all feats. I feel you really don't need to change the weapon proficiencies for the classes. Fighters know how to use swords, Sorcerers aren't too good at using swords unless having a bit more focus on them (MWP), and most people can't use spiked chains unless they focus on them (EWP).

5/2 attacks per round means you get 2.5 attacks a round. 2 per round #1, 3 per round #2.
