    A California law banning sales of violent video games to minors was declared unconstitutional.

    Interesting; I agree that there shouldn't be a law, that parents should control what their underage kids are playing.

    It's one of the few things Justice Scalia (who wrote the majority opinion) and I agree on. Small children don't have money unless their parents give it to them, and it should be up to the parents what is and isn't appropriate for their kids to play.

    I'm glad you agree, BTA. However, this is part of an historical and literary theme that I have been intersted in since college, where I studied Medieval and Reniassance lierature and history, and which sort of led me to American society's preoccuptaion and attitudes [hysteria?] towards sex and voilence regarding not only children, but adults as well.

    Oh, yeah. I (like you) have noticed the double standard with respect to sex and violence. I really don't see the big deal with sexaul material, but even so, I think the parents should control what they want to control and the government should butt out.

    The stupidity of the outrage over Howard Stern back in the day, and Janet Jackson's "costume malfunction" where she wasn't really even exposed... just :rolleyes:

    And especially now, when explicit material is a mouse click or finger tap away and kids are "sexting" eachother... let alone what the Congressmen are doing themselves. Stupidity.
