    What the @&%$ is the LA Mayor doing shilling for Clinton in Iowa and New Hampshire? Get your ass back to LA and do the job I'm paying you for! :mad: If you want to shill for her in LA, fine, but don't go to other states and leave your job behind.

    What if Bush does the same for McCain, as he is expected to do? As the President of the entire nation, is it OK for him to leave his job to campaign for someone else? We won't mention how many months of his presidency he spent in Crawford, Texas, doing basically nothing anyway. (Guess about 17 months out of the last 7 years and you will be close). So what were we paying him for, BTA?

    I wouldn't see anything inappropriate if Bush went out stumping for McCain, or Clinton for that matter. It is the President's job to look after the nation, and of course he should campaign for whoever he believes would be the best person to run the nation after him.

    I wouldn't see anything inappropriate in Villaraigosa stumping for his successor as mayor of LA; I even said above I didn't see anything wrong with him campaigning for Clinton if he stayed in LA and did his job.

    I pay Boxer and Feinstein to represent California's interests in Washington.

    I pay Harman to represent my district.

    I pay Schwarzenegger to handle the business of California.

    I pay Villaraigosa to handle the business of Los Angeles. How is being the national co-chair of Clinton's campaign handling the business of Los Angeles? How is spending 18 of the last 65 days away from Los Angeles when there's a deficit of tens of millions of dollars to deal with handling Los Angeles' business? How is paying for two LAPD officers to follow him around on these boondoggles out of the city's coffers handling the business of Los Angeles?

    It's not, and it pisses me off. :mad:
