Alright, whenever I cast a spell or do anything where it might possibly have more than 1 target (i.e magic missile) rather than having the correct limit on the right, it may be something like -513. And sine I'm already over that, it allows an infinite amount of targets. Quite frankly, i don't wish to try remembering how many I'm supposed to have, and the temptation to abuse this would be too high (Demon? no problem, 100 magic missiles, go!). I've searched around and haven't seen this bug elsewhere.

    Using Windows XP SP2

    Installed ToEE, patch 2, patch 3, uninstalled patch 3, installed Co8 5.0.4

Anyone ever seen this bug before?

Oh, also, frontend won't work for me, it just says application failed to initialize.

This magic missile bug keeps coming up in connection with the Co8 mod for years now. I thought it's been fixed a long time ago. Mind you, I don't know if it's the Co8 pack that causes it or simply doesn't fix it, but we've had quite a few posts in this forum mention this specific bug and they've all had the Co8 pack installed.

    Edit: check http://www.sorcerers.net/forums/showpost.php?p=401427&postcount=6

    Not really very helpful though...

I guess... but not knowing what you're supposed to have done wrong, there's really no telling how to avoid doing it again. I suggest checking over at Co8 if they have any details on this particular issue.

I had this issue with one of the early iterations of the Co8 patch (we're talking probably 3 years ago), but I haven't had it with anything that's come after. So, like Tal, I thought this had been fixed.

I haven't played ToEE in a good year though, so I'm not sure if some new bugs have been introduced, if this is somehow a problem with your install, or what. I'm sure the guys over at co8.org will have some suggestions for you. They do seem to check these boards periodically as well, and may respond here.

    Hi falco1029 -

Do you have Microsoft .net framework 2.0 installed on your system? The front end requires it to work properly.

The 511 magic missiles issue can be traced back to official patches that contain the game's .dll file in their executables, which renders our modded .dll file null. As I mentioned in another nearby thread, fixing this can be quite complicated. If you'd still like help with it, please say so here or check with us over at Co8.

The uninstallation of patch 3 might be a bit iffy in this sequence too. You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling everything again without having patch 3 involved at all.

Apologies for this all being as dicey as it is, but there's really nothing we can do about that. We have no choice but to work with whatever condition Atari has left this game and its available patches in.
