[IMG] Although it sems most people here don't have any problems, NWN won't work on my PC. I thought it was the video card, but it turn out it isn't at all-its the sound card. The game works if I disable sound, which I'm not about to do. Anyway, I checked the Bioware site and it appears to be a pretty common problem. So, I tried to change the directory to 2D audio support but it didn't work. So, I suppose I can buy a different sound card or wait for some kind of a patch. If I do buy a sound card, like a Hercules I've heard mentioned for like $50, are they just plug and play or what? I have a Dell.

Yeah, sound cards are plug and play, but I would recommend getting a Creative Sound Blaster brand, because that's pretty much the standard, and every company would make sure their game works with it.

And next time just continue in your original thread rather than starting a new one...

    *sigh*
well Orkrist, I have the same problem, and the sound card is the problem. I have all the latest drivers for it, but...

Come to think of it, I had the exact same problem with Fallout Tactics. The developer claimed it was a problem with Direct X and that they couldn't do anything...and then they went outta business. Oh well

Be sure that the new sound card you'll buy is a DirectX certified Sound Card, this is one of the NWN system requirements.
