Upcoming Site Downtime *2nd Update*

    Either today or tomorrow (hopefully not later, but I have no exact date/time yet), Sorcerer's Place and all our hosted sites will go down for about 30 minutes up to 1 hour. During this window, the sites will be completely inaccessible. The reason for the downtime will be a swap of the server's old CPU with a shiny new one, nearly 1Ghz faster.

    Though we've never really had any major problems with the speed of the server, the upgrade is a sensible investment for the future, and it will make our already fast sites even faster.

    If I manage to get any more exact details on when this upgrade is going to happen, I will update this news post.

    Edit: All I could find out is that it's going to happen at some point in the next 5 days, during the time period of least activity here (midnight to 5am CDT [US central time] or 7am to 12am CEST [Central European Standard Time]).

    CEST. If that's when I think it is, that's when I'm typically at work. Works good for me. Thanks for the notice though. May help cut down on possible panic attacks from not getting our SP fix. :D

    CEST = Central European Standard Time.

    And good thing you pointed it out, because I just realized that I messed up. The CEST time for the downtime is from 7am till noon. The midnight to 5am frame is American time (CDT) when the upgrade is set to occur. :doh:
