Im currently doing the Unseeing Eye quest and want to know the uses of the rod.
I KNOW you use it to kill the blind beholder. What Im asking is if there is any other use for it. Has any of you used it for any purpose other than the one given.
Ive got a ferret familiar so I can get it out of the sewers, Im sure.

Also those control circlets that the thralls wear in the Planar Prison. What do they do?

No. You might be able to use it to zap something else, but you lose the rod when you complete the quest.

Technically, they change the faction of all the thralls whenever the mastery orb is destroyed. As far as uses for you though, they're worthless.

This is quoted from here : the big list of cheesy ways to exploit the game.

So no, it has no other uses other than being a wand of ranged harm with 100% chance of working. I suppose you can use it to kill anything you want. Have fun...

You know, the best way to get the device out of the sewers, and avoid having to deal with a familiar, is to open up the CLUA Consloe and do the "Move to area" cheat from the Unseeing Eye Area of the sewers. Vola. :rolling:

Looks like the familiar cheese got nerfed in the new patch or one of the fix-packs.

The collars dont show up in my inventory though I do get 'the party has gained an item' message.
The Rift device is unpickable, ie I get the 'target has no items message'. OR is that because I already used it :wail:

Tell me if you managed to get either of the two to any use.

Um, am I the only one here that is thinking of the collars in the Planar Prison (what the original poster asked about) and not the ones in the mind flayers' lair?

The collars that are obtained in the Planar Prison are looted from the corpses of dead enemies and have no special abilities at all.
