[IMG] Oookay, then. I just tried to uninstall the Valen-PC mod (because I don't use it, and because someone suggested that uninstalling it might solve a certain problem I was having) and during the process every other mod I have was summarily uninstalled, then reinstalled. Is this standard procedure when uninstalling any single mod? I only specified that the Valen mod be uninstalled yet this radical procedure was performed automatically.

Naturally I'm quite pissed because the reinstall managed to wipe out three weeks' worth of time-consuming mods I had made to various items and dialogs (some files were backed up, but only a few). I'll have to be more careful in the future and back *everything* up. Cripes.

Yea! When uninstalling most mods they uninstall other mods and reinstall them. I do believe that it does that so it wont mess up the dialogue file and other files! Not sure though!

It happened to me too! I only wanted to uninstall a certain component of a mod.

It then uninstalled some more mods and then re-installed them. It took about half an hour as I had so many mods! Damn it was annoying! :(

Alternatively, what you guys could do is to open weidu.log and erase ALL the recordings of installed mods you don't want the installer to un-install! It is through the weidu.log that weidu keeps track on which mods you've got installed, thus if it doesn't know it's there, then it won't uninstall it.

So, you simply just remove all the ~name.tp2~ references.

You should not do what Olimikrig suggests.

The reason that WeiDU uninstalls then reinstalls mods is to preserve install order. So, if you reinstall the last mod you installed you'll not have other stuff reinstalled, but if you changed the one at the bottom of the stack then all mods would be reinstalled.

If you try and fiddle around with WeiDU.LOG then you will screw up things like text and any files which are altered by more than one mod (which will be an awful lot of them). It is best just to be patient and let WeiDU work, since that is what it was designed to do.

    ^Hmm OK thanks.

I will not touch it again, that is for sure.

Yes, I'll just be sure and rename any items that I've altered so those won't be overwritten. A few custom items I've made took 30-40 minutes each and I don't want to have to do that again!
