[IMG] Some games out there appeal more significantly to individuals than to the general public.

Which game(s) do you think is underappreciated?

For me, it is Ultima Underworld 2. First person RPG, real-time combat, twisting plot, puzzling quests, monsters, treasure... an adventurer's dream! (well, maybe not the monsters part :) )

And yet I only know one other person who played it other than myself.

Toonstruck. One of the best adventure games ever made.

Either Star Control 2, or Xcom1.

    Possibly Shadows of the Empire.

I just beat Zax: Alien hunter.
It's a cool arcade style third person shooter, with an unusual control scheme. You move your character with the arrow keys, and use your mouse to control a cursor floating around you to aim.

I really enjoyed this game, it does a nice job of giving you new toys to play with every level or so, and has good level design and nice balance.
It has some minor puzzles to spice it up, but nothing too complex.

But I don't think too many people have ever heard of it. It was made by JoWood studios, which is a smaller company, and I don't think any major magazines or websites featured it. I think this game deserved more recognition!

Hmmm, that's not really that unusual of a control scheme Nutrimat.

I don't really keep up to much with gaming mags and such to know what people appreciate and what they don't. As long as I like it, that's all I care.

I guess Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. The only beef I had with that game was some of the jumps.

[IMG] I also think Sim Shralp is not getting the recognition it deserves. We need to work on that.

Maybe Secret of Evermore and Threads of Fate. Although too many people probably wouldn't appreciate them too much anyways.

Go Colonization! I highly recommend that game if you have the patience to learn it.

Jetpack was pretty fun too. Not as popular as Lode Runner but just as challenging.

Good call TAL. Toonstruck was great. Remeber playing that for hours as a lad. Think it was the crazy Doc (Emmet Brown from Back to the Future) that did it, he was kewl.
