    When world building many people will forget that culture isn't a planetwide thing. Just take a look at Earth to see the variety in one quite small planet.

    Many also will neglect variety of geography, unless there is a specific reason a planet is mostly dust, surely there would be plant life and other supported flaura and fauna that creates a living atmosphere around?

    Unless changes happened suddenly within a climate, there should be life in most percievable places that a planet has available to it. Even if some supernatural or unearthly energy has comprised its evolution. Life has a habit of emerging wherever it possibly can.

    You only have to look in the lightless caves under the ocean or seeds designed to withstand fire in crowded aboreal land.
