    1st off, I was wondering what the difference between the special edition Player's Handbook and Dungeon Master's Guide and the non-special edition variants.

    2ndly I was wondering what book deals with the Blackguard prestige class. The self appointed right hand man of the lich in the RP I'm making is a morhag with 9 levels of Blackguard (and 10 levels of fighter). The Salyer's Guide provides a nice Morhag template, so I've got that part done, but I still need to do the Blackguard part.

    Well, the blackguard is dealt with in the DM guide, isn't it? It is one of the most "core" prestige classes :)

    Ooooh! I happen to have the special editions, and though I don't have the regular editions to compare with, I would have to say that the regular editions are not bound in embossed black leather and do not have a sewn-in ribbon book mark. :)

    And Shaman is right about the Blackguard in the DMG...

    I guess I'll have to go out and by DM Guide then. Looks like I'll have to fork out that cash I was looking to avoid forking out.

    Like BTA said, the special editions look really pretty, but the content is almost identical (at least for the PHB). The first print of the PHB contained several mistakes (which can also be found in the errata), which were corrected in the special edition. But if you buy a non-special PHB now, it probably wouldn't have the errors in it.

    No, FRCS has Arcane Devotee, Archmage, Divine Champion, Divine Disciple, Divine Seeker, Guild Thief, Harper Scout, Hathran, Hierophant, Purple Dragon Knight, Red Wizard, Runecaster, and Shadow Adept prestige classes.

    Blackguard is most definitely in the DMG.
