    Just curious.

I'm actually facing a problem where my 1st level characters have an extra Hit Die of Hit Points they shouldn't have.

EDit: the bug got worse. I rested to see if that would fix the problem, and my character went from 20 maximum HP to 1.

Shadowkeeper. It is the BG2 engine, after all.

    You'll use ShadowKeeper.

As per your problem, I don't know what that could be, someone else should help with that.

    Good luck

Thanks guys. I've actually decided to stop with Tutu for a while now. I find myself with characters that are too powerful without even trying to powergame. I'm going to give good ol' SoA a run through. :)

    Hello -

I've identifed a few problems in the starting HPs code, and have fixed them for the next version of EasyTutu (details available in the change log).

Are you by any chance using a party of self-made characters? Most of the HP-related glitches I found were in the code that deals with Players 2-6. The only replicable bug I found with starting HP code for the main PC (Player 1) had to do with Barbarians, and is documented in the change log.

    Nope, just one character.

Funny you mention the Barbarian thing, because I never noticed the problem until I made a Barbarian. But then the problem happened on every game since!

    Hello -

If that's so, then you are having a problem that I cannot replicate. I've started lots of Tutu games, and I've never had any problem with starting HPs prior to making a Barbarian.

What mods are you using? Post the contents of your weidu.log file, if you don't mind.

The only mod I added was the Weidu Tutu fixpack.

I've uninstalled tutu, and will give it a go again tomorrow, to see if it'll work.

ON EDIT: I had mods before this installed on BG1, so maybe that's the problem. It won't be until next week though that I'll have access to my original discs needed for a full uninstall and reinstall.

    Hello -

I forgot to mention: do not assess starting HPs immediately upon starting a new game. You need to wait 5 or 10 seconds (with the game unpaused) for all the initialization scripts to finish running. So in other words, almost every character is born with incorrect HPs, and then has them corrected to the right total within the first few seconds of existence.

The next version of EasyTutu includes an optimized version of this initialization which runs faster, and withholds the "Welcome to Candlekeep, your home!" starting message until it finishes running in order to give you better visual feedback on when the game is fully initialized.

Macready, I'd walk into the inn, rest, and wake up with 1 HP maximum.

    Hello -

OK. Once you are able to assemble a clean installation, experiment with it prior to installing any mods. If you can give me a series of steps to recreate the problem, that would be great. For now, in the currently released version of EasyTutu, the only starting HP problem I can actually replicate is the Barbarian one.

I'd noticed that. It's kind of funky to watch the HP values fluctuate on the record screen. :hippy:

I've also heard tell of similar problems in BG2. Starting with an extra hit die of HP (without CON bonus) that never goes away.

Sometimes you also get the -2 bonus to AC if you export a Kensai and start a new game. Sometimes you do and sometimes you don´t, anyway. I only noticed this a couple of times, but I still wondered about it. Hmmm...... How about other stats, like saves, I wonder?
