This might sound like a complete newbie question but I've never been able to turn undead very well. The AI always seems to switch it off every 2 seconds or if I turn the AI off my cleric soon gets slaughtered by masses of vampires. Are there any scripts I should be using?

You should turn the AI off and use the space bar to pause the game and issue orders (use options for pause as well).

Using scripts is not an efficient way to manage a party.

By the way, turn undead gets much better when your cleric's level is higher (or much higher in the case of a paladin).

Thetruth posted some information about TURN UNDEAD LEVELS:

Thanks Caradhras. I've been playing the game for years but turning undead never seems to be very effective so I was wondering if scripts might be the answer (I agree that generally they seem a bit useless). How close do you have to be to the undead to turn them? Also I noticed vampires are not on the list - can they not be turned?

I don't know the level requirements but I have managed to both scare and insta-kill vampires with Viccy or Anomen.

    Vampires can be turned. :)

Check Latro's posts in this thread.

Regarding how close you have to be, well, you will find out in game that with a high level cleric most undead creatures (including vampires) get blown to pieces if they get anywhere near your cleric. ;)

Oh yes, vampires can be turned.

I believe if your cleric takes any other action (such as attack) the turning stops. However, in an area with a lot of undead yoor cleric can walk around with turning on. If the cleric is high enough level all the undead are destroyed went they get close (even the beneficial undead). I wasn't very good at playing clerics, so I soloed a cleric/thief -- they're awesome.

Ah I see. I think Aerie's only at Level 10 so maybe that's why I'm having trouble turning vampires. Thanks guys.

You can insta-gib Kangaxx? That would be... hilarious. Or is this only referring to his normal lich form?
