Trouble installing Arcanum

    I attempted to install Arcanum recently, and found that while it will install without any faults, it refuses to actually play it. If I attempt to actually play the game, I get the "hourglass" until I restart the computer, at which point the desktop only loads if I remove the Play disk from the drive.
    I'm running on XP with a relatively powerful compy (3 Ghz, 512 RAM).

    Have you tried running in compatability mode? Right-click on desktop icon, choose Properties and click on the third tab. The readme recommends 95, 98, ME or 2000 for the OS.

    Er, did you get the patch that makes the game compatible with XP service pack 2? If not, that's your problem.

    EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. I was thinking of Temple of Elemental Evil, not Arcanum. Sorry.
