[IMG] So, is that like, completely undisarmable, or what? I think I've tried it with about 225 points (natural and item-enhanced), and it still goes off when I try to disarm it. My latest run-through with Fade made me start thinking about it again.

I wouldn't even know where to begin to check what level it's designed to be disarmed at, and am most likely far too lazy to check even if I did.

Has anyone ever been able to disarm that sucker?

AFAIK, it is undisarmable. I've never been able to disarm it, no matter if I had maxed Find Traps or not.

The difficulty is set at 100, so yes, it will always smack you in the face. I don't even bother to try to disarm it anymore because that just means my thief takes the hit. Now I just unlock it and send the meat over. ;)

I fell for the same trick. a couple of days ago, my solo F/M/T had a few level drained when fighting the kiddie spirits and was down to 30hp after fighting Neb. i was really paying attention and when i tried to disarm the trap, it flattened me, and i tried to reload, but the previous save was an autosave, so i had to redo the bridge district again which really sucked. the second time around, i healed up before taking the hit and onl just managed to pull through (about 7hp left i think). so it is a pain in the ass and should always be remembered when doing that quest.

Yes. Especially on insane difficulty. That trap killed my poor Nalia irreversibly due to massive damage. I guess it is acid damage. My poor Nalia melted. Power word:Reload! :(

I was bored once and did this: equip your thief with boots of speed and free action (I had the ring). Have them untrap the safe. They take the damage 98% of the time, but occasionally you can outrun it since your are fast and can't be held by the trap. :D

The trapped container has 452 gold, a silver necklace, an angel skin ring, and a random treasure.

And for that measly treasure I had my poor Nalia melted. I still can not forget her death scream...

Luckily, I am a 'save often, save sperately, and save whenever you have the chance' guy, so no problems with me. :good:

You can avoid the damage of that trap with prot.from Acid or Mirror Image (or both :p , I can't remember).

So glad others have had this problem too. Not just me.

I felt a right muppet failing my attempt.
My protagenist was hiding his head in shame! ;)

It is a nasty death trap for low HP characters. :toofar:
