Transmuter

    [​IMG] Other people probably already know this, but I have just discovered two new things about this game that I never noticed before, namely that my Transmuter can do two special things in the Underdark in the potion lab:
    1) Gain an extra 5 permanent hit points
    2) Gain extra protection from cold.

    I assume these must be Transmuter-only quest actions.

    I wonder what other wierd little things like this have escaped my attention after all this time.

    You can also use the lab to create a potion of Frost Giant STR, IIRC, if you have one of the White Wyrm eggs.

    It's a shame this game never caught on as well as the BG series, because I'm sure there are a ton of little secrets like this most of us aren't aware of yet.

    All characters with a certain level of alchemy should be able to do things at that lab. Since alchemy is only a class skill for wizards (maybe sorcerers as well), you probably won't get the option for other classes.

    Yeah, I've done all those other things before, especially awakening the very cool Flesh Golem to join your party, but I've never seen those two Transmuter only actions before.

    I upgraded all my small potions of health to big potions with a sorcerer IIRC. No more mass gulping of 9 HP ones. :D

    How did you upgrade all potions?? I'm usually only able to upgrade some (= around 30 or so). Maybe you don't have that much potions with you? I usually carry with me every potion I get during the game and mostly use my cleric/druids spells for healing. When I get to the laboratory I have around 60 unused weaker healing potions and quite many stronger.

    The table only has components for a limited number of healing potion upgrades.

    Chev must have already used up a large number of healing potions. There is only a limited amount of transforming chemical on that table.
