I'm trying to play ToEE on xp sp2 I have installed patches 1 and 2 and Co8 mod 5.6.0 final but I still have a looting problem when I try to play the oringinal game. The mod seems to be working fine.

The Co8 mod will not fix bugs in the original game, even if you start the game through the Front-End. To get the Co8 bug fixes, you need to actually play the Co8 mod. (Sorry, that had to be said.)

If you want to play the original game without the looting bug, you will need to install Atari Patch 3 - but that will break your C08 game.

IIRC, it has to do with your version of DirectX. If you have DirectX version 10 or above (which ships with WinXP), you'll have the looting bug. :bad:

It's DirectX, not DivX, of course! :o And according to this page, it's version 9.0c that causes the looting bug.

[IMG] Sorry Kullervo, and thanks! It's DirectX, not DivX. Fixed in the original post.

Unfortunately the game won't start at all with patch 3

Try Moebius' patch on the Misc page instead.
