I would ask myself a few questions.

    1. Why does Dad keep disconnecting the internet?

    2. Why is the internet so important to me that I consider killing/hurting/hating my parents because of it?

Parents - good ones, anyway - often have a good reason for doing the things they do, such as imposing restrictions on their children. Have you tried talking to him about this? I highly doubt he's disconnecting the internet from your entire household simply to piss you off. Maybe you aren't living up to your responsibilities at home, and don't deserve the privilege. I say "privilege" because you apparantly aren't paying for your own internet access, and aren't totally denied access given your posting of this topic.

I know people who want to "eliminate" their parents for reasons that actually mean something; such as brutal physical abuse, or breaking up the home because of infidelity or some other self-centered reason. I realize you're young, but come on. This is a little childish, don't you think?

Ask Erik and Lyle Menendez about it . . .

(They killed their folks for the money and now are in jail)

    I'm with DR on this.

It'll be interesting to see responses from people who are both childless AND still living at home. I have a feeling that there will be two very distinct camps of posters on this question.

It should be pretty easy to guess which camp I'll fall into.

I notice that you put the word "Dad" in quotation marks. Out of curiosity, is he a stepdad, your non-biological father figure, or something along those lines?

(Sorry if I'm probing a bit too deep into your personal life, but I'm just curious).

Of course, the other possibility is that Kovalis was just ticked off and felt like doing a bit of 'over-the-top' venting (not that I'm suggesting that anyone here actually thinks that he seriously wants to 'eliminate' his Dad). Although given the nature of forums such as these, it's hard to tell just how serious he was.

Having said that, Death Rabbit's comments were right on - he should look at his Dad's reason's for cutting him off.

a few weeks ago I would have said:

I don't care anymore, I could find out my dad died horrible and painfuly and be happy.

but I would have said that for the wrong reasons. I was angry at my dad, still am, for over a year now. But I just wanted to hear from him. I wanted to know I hadn't been forgotten, that I hadn't said anything to stop him seeing me again. I would sit for hours thinking on everything I could have done wrong to upset him.

I hadn't seen him since my thirteenth birthday. He's never called. Until today he phoned me. I started talking to him and found I was upset. I was glad to finally talk to him again, and to hear he was alright. I just wish he hadn't waited two years to contact me. I was angry he couldn't spare five minutes for his own child.

now he promises to phone more often, to come and see me as soon as possible. I want to believe him, but I don't know if I can.

and my mother? I love her dearly, I don't know where I'd be without her. Sure, she can be a pain sometimes ;) but as she says: It's what mummy does best :)

I'm with Death Rabbit on this one. I would like to emphasize DR's second question.

I have seen some other messages here, about people being upset that their father cut of the internet. There is more to the world than the internet. I doubt you really need the internet.

And besides, they are your parents, you don't hurt them. That should be rule number 1, don't hate your parents, respect them. They probably work hard so they can afford your food and education and the costs for internet, you should be thanking them for that. There are exeptions however, when do not have to respect your parents, for example in 8people case. But you still shouldn't hate them. If it wasn't for them, you wouldn't be on this world.

Let me see, I think there was something biblical about this . . . hmmm . . . Mat? A little help? . . . Oh yeah, honor thy father and thy mother. If you turn over the tablets, you see that god was way ahead. There's a footnote to that commandment that says:

Even if thou art pissed off that thine parents pulled the plug on the telly or the net. Generally, thou wilt find that they mean the best for you. Perhaps thy melanin content is a little low and some sunlight this month might be good for thou?? :D :D

I agree with DR, not only on his well stated remarks about parents, but also on CA. DR must be feeling the heat also, since we live in an area with horrid weather (especially right now) and smelly oil laden beaches (Galveston beaches). But it does have on OK seawall.

... mmmm, could be, rabbit, could be.

Back on topic, we still don't know the cause of this homicidal thread. Assuming that there was a yanking of the net for no reason, perhaps a chat with the offending parent (not yelling, mind, but a reasonable inquiry) might yield better results than a .44?

I'm living at home, and I'm childless. Sometimes I really hate my parents, especially when they make silly jokes about me in public. There's also one more trhing, but I don't want to discuss it here...

    This thread has been hijacked...

Anyhow, when my dad yelled at me for no reason besides that I had found something funny on the internet and laughed at it. He though I had found the argument he had just had with my mum funny, when in all actual fact I was completly ignoring it.

When my parents seem to think that totally shattering my self esteem in order to improve my manners is the best thing for me. My manners are better but my grades have gone the way of the dodo and so has my social life.

And I forgot to mention before, the way that my mom laughs whenever I do something "cute" this is defined as whenever I do something serious, such as try to write my resume. And everytime I complain she says "are you starting that again" while totally ignoring the argument, for everything. If the problem persists she threatens to take away the computer.

Nedless to say I'm moving out.

    Dads can be asses.
    Moms can be a pain.
And when combined with their friends and relatives, they can get disgustingly horrid.
But you learn to ignore that and you learn to forgive. When the chips are down and they stand by you, you realise how much you love and respect them. All over again.
It does not make them any easier to live with but you no longer mind it.
